Tracie Thoms Appears on MTV’s “Catfish” as the first Celebrity to be Catfished

Although there have been people featured on “Catfish” who have claimed to be celebrities, Tracie Thoms was the first real celebrity to be fooled by someone she met on social media. On the show’s June 4 episode, fans watched as Thoms met with the show’s hosts, Nev Schulman and Max Joseph, in an effort to get to the bottom of an incident that went down online between her and one of her super fans. For months, Thoms had been communicating with a woman named Sammie on Twitter. The woman had been a fan of Thoms for years and graciously...

EXCLUSIVE: “Odd Mom Out” Executive Producer and Star Jill Kargman on Her New Bravo Series

Early last month, Bravo announced they were adding two scripted series to their lineup, one being “Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce,” and the other being “Odd Mom Out.” During the NBC Upfront, Kargman opened up to CableTV about the upcoming series. “The pilot is essentially, like, you are just thrown right into this family that has four kids on the Upper East Side and New York is the kind of city where, even if you are doing really well, you can feel like totally middle class because everyone else is wheels up and swinging Prada shopping bags with drivers in cocaine-white Escalades and private school and country houses and Aspen condos,” Kargman detailed. In the half-hour series, which is based loosely on Kargman’s own life in New York, Kargman’s character is, as the title proclaims, the odd one, stuck in the middle of the many uber-wealthy momzillas of her neighborhood. “I’m trying to raise these kids to be normal and love New York like the way I loved New York in the ’70s,” Kargman said. “I grew up with a ‘no radio’ sign on our car because it was totally scary in New York. I lived on Madison Avenue, but it was like scary New York, like the subway was covered in graffiti and all that, so I feel that there was so much character there.” “I don’t romanticize that...

EXCLUSIVE: Adrienne Bailon Dishes About Her New Oxygen Series, “Nail’d It”

Adrienne Baillon is returning to TV in a new competition series on Oxygen where several “Nailistas” will compete in weekly challenges for a grand prize of $100,000. “I’m so excited about the show, it’s the first ever nail art competition show. It will be on Oxygen this fall [and] I’m the host,” Baillon revealed to CableTV during the NBC Upfront presentation in New York City. For years, Baillon has be a fan of all things nails, so when it came to the search for the perfect host, there was no one better for the job. “Everyone that knows me knows I am nail obsessed,” Baillon said. “I’ve been doing nail art for such a long time, it’s usually the first thing that the camera folks will be like, ‘Adrienne, show us your nails,’ because I’ve had pretty extreme things.” Among Baillon’s most extreme designs were Jay-Z’s lyrics, “I don’t rock molly, I rock Tom Ford,” Chanel-inspired nails, Audrey Hepburn nails, the Eiffel Tower, and Parisian-themed nails. Baillon takes her nail art so seriously that she bases her wardrobe choice on the look of her nails. “My nails will be consistent throughout the week, so I’ll kind of base it on if my nails are red, I’ll most likely wear a red lip the entire week, that sort of thing,” Baillon said. “I love it.” Still, despite her long-running obsession...
