This Doctor Who Timeline Explains It All Ahead of The War Between the Land and the Sea
Hop in the TARDIS with CableTV.com
We’re big Doctor Who fans here at CableTV.com, and we’ve made it our mission over the years to keep track of the Doctor’s adventures. As any Doctor Who fan will know, this ridiculously in-depth (and long) infographic is hard to keep up to date as the Doctor’s history grows longer and more complicated—but we’ve managed to do it. (Seriously, what kind of show has three different “first” seasons?)
But that’s why we’re here: to make all the most complicated TV-viewing situations a little less complicated. Or at least, nicer to look at.
So whether you’ve been a fan since 1963 or you just started watching with Ncuti Gatwa, this infographic will bring you up to speed before the release of Who spinoff The War Between the Land and the Sea, which streams on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on December 7, 2025.
You can also use it to find your next watch. Just interested in Dalek episodes? Or ones featuring the Brigadier? Use our guide to create your dream watchlist.

Doctor Who is split into three eras: Classic, New, and Disney. That’s why there are three different “first” seasons.
They’re also split across streaming services. Classic Who is streaming on BritBox and Disney Who is streaming on Disney+. Unfortunately, my personal favorite era, New Who, left HBO Max and is no longer streaming anywhere in the U.S.
If you want to catch up on anything from 2005–2022, you might want to look into getting a VPN. You might be able to make it work with BBC’s iPlayer.
