Unlike a lot of business internet providers, Comcast’s business internet plans mirror its consumer-level selection on Xfinity. With Comcast Business, you’ll choose from a sizable five plans with speeds up to 2 Gbps.
We like that Comcast streamlined parts of the shopping process for business internet customers—every plan besides Essential comes with identical Mbps upload speeds, so you’ll get the same upload speed across the board. This’ll come in handy if your team is regularly running tasks like doing cloud backups or Zoom calls. Comcast also includes its Security Edge service for free if you enroll in a Standard or faster plan.
That said, Comcast Business Internet does require some fine-print wrangling. As with its residential internet plans, Comcast’s business pricing varies by region. For instance, the plans in the table above come from Philadelphia in an area where Comcast offers nearly symmetrical upload speeds. If you’re in an area with an older Comcast network, you’ll have to settle for 35 Mbps upload speeds (but you’ll also get lower pricing.)
Additionally, you’ll have to agree to a contract (complete with early termination fees) on its five higher-end plans.
- Standard and Performance have a 12 to 24-month price lock with a two-year service agreement.
- Advanced and Gigabit have a 60-month price lock with a one-year agreement.
Comcast’s price-lock guarantees are certainly lengthy (and your business has bigger concerns if you need month-to-month internet). Still, we’re never fans of introductory rate deals and scheduled price hikes. If you’re with Comcast Business Internet, be prepared to pony up for a longer guarantee or schedule an afternoon every two years to haggle with a phone agent.
