What is the cheapest way to get internet in your house?
Let’s be honest: Nobody actually likes shopping for internet plans. It’s usually a bunch of fine print, hidden fees, and price locks that (oftentimes) disappear after a year. But if you know where to look, there are actually some pretty sweet perks sitting on the table right now.
That’s why I’ve done the heavy lifting and sifted through the noise to find only the best internet deals currently on the market. Whether you want to slash your monthly bill or just see which provider is handing out the best freebies this month, I’ve got you covered.
The best internet promotions and deals for May 2026
Stellar deals take the edge off hefty internet bills. With the best internet deals from providers like T-Mobile, Spectrum, and Xfinity, you can get anything from waived installation fees to free gift cards and discounted months of service.
Still, internet promos tend to change often. Believe me, as CableTV.com’s resident deals hound, I know this firsthand. That’s why I recommend bookmarking this page and checking back often, as I’ll keep this table up to date with the latest deals on home internet services.

What to look for in internet packages and deals
When you’re looking for internet deals, here’s what you’ll need to know to make sure you get the biggest savings and promos.
Price
Internet providers throw out deals like free months and cash cards to get your foot in the door, but the best providers give you a reason to stick around. Make sure your internet price is guaranteed for at least a year and won’t increase drastically after the 12-month mark.
There are a ton of internet providers that also have special offers for low-income folks, students, and seniors. Check out our guide to free and low-income internet to get the lowdown.
Free gift cards
Depending on your internet provider, it’ll usually take between two and three months to receive your prepaid cash card. Oftentimes, the cards are sent through a third-party company and won’t come directly from your internet provider. Make sure to mark your calendar when your card should arrive and be ready to give your internet provider a call if you don’t spot the card in your inbox.
Prepaid internet
If you’re looking for budget-friendly, no-contract internet service, consider a prepaid plan from a provider like Xfinity or Cox. Prepaid internet plans generally offer slow download speeds of less than 100 Mbps, but you’ll pay a flat rate and won’t have a price increase after your first year of service.

What are the best internet deals right now?
Internet deals may seem like gimmicky promotions, but if you take advantage of them right, you can save a lot. Verizon Fios and AT&T offer great packages and fiber internet speeds for new customers, with AT&T being our Editor’s Choice pick for the best internet provider out there.

Those aren’t your only options, with providers like Xfinity (our Best of the Best for Cable pick) and T-Mobile (our choice for Best of the Best for Your Buck) making the sign-up process a breeze for students and new customers.
When you’re shopping for an internet deal, look for providers who offer bonuses like prepaid cards, free months of service, or free streaming service subs (Spectrum is the best for this last one!).
And if the deals above still don’t scratch your money-saving itch, check out the best cheap internet packages we recommend.
