Xtream powered by Mediacom’s three TV packages feature up to 170+ channels, a free Xtream1 TV box, and no contracts.
I don’t think Local TV is worth it, as you can get all the local channels offered for just a one-time purchase of an over-the-air (OTA) antenna.
Essential TV adds dozens of popular cable TV channels (125+ channels total), which will satisfy most households. Sports fans will want to bundle with Variety TV (170+ channels).
And if you’d like to add home phone service, it’s $10 more a month.

Why you should choose Xtream
Mediacom Xtream TV has some great perks that make it a super attractive TV option for folks who already have Xtream Internet. That’s because, well, because Xtream Internet is a requirement for Xtream TV. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
With an Xtream TV and internet bundle, you’ll enjoy the convenience of having your TV and internet services on one bill. Plus, you can easily add Mediacom home phone service to the same bill for just $10/mo. for maximum bundling power.
We also can’t get enough of its customizability, with tons of add-ons to suit all your TV-watching needs (all of which are listed in the section above). Throw in a free mobile app and TV equipment, and we’re sold.
Why CableTV.com recommends Xtream TV for families who love a bundle
We think Mediacom Xtream TV is a good choice for families with Xtream Internet looking for an easy bundle with plenty of channels. Its plethora of add-ons makes it perfect for families to easily customize their channel lineup to cater to both adults and kiddos alike.
Xtream TV doesn’t come without downsides, though. We wish Xtream TV had more budget-friendly options. Its Local TV plan costs an additional $70 per month on top of your Xtream Internet plan. For that price, you’d easily be better off buying an over-the-air antenna for around $60 once—it’ll get you basically all of the same channels for a one-time purchase.
We also wish ESPN wasn’t paywalled behind Xtream’s highest-tier plan, Variety TV. That said, if you don’t have a family full of sportsballs, the mid-tier Essential TV is a solid option with tons of top channels and, of course, an easy bundle with Mediacom’s reliable internet service.
However, remember that if you’re a Mediacom internet user seeking a new TV service, Xtream isn’t your only option. Stream with DIRECTV is our favorite TV provider for sports lovers. For comparison, you’ll get 160+ channels on the ULTIMATE plan for $119.99/mo. — that’s over $20 less than Mediacom’s Variety Plan for just a few less channels and a 2-year price guarantee.
