Explore Disney+’s cost and plans
Data effective as of post date.
Disney+’s prices are pretty standard for streaming services in 2025. Unfortunately, neither one is as affordable as Disney+ was back when it only offered one plan in 2019, but its $9.99/mo. Basic price tag is within normal bounds for an ad-supported plan. Its Premium, ad-free plan is $15.99/mo., which is expensive but not quite as egregious as some of its competitors’ premium tiers, costing up to $24.99/mo.
But if you’re looking to get a slightly better deal, I’d recommend ditching standalone Disney+ and getting the Disney Bundle instead. It’s not that much more than standalone Disney+, and you’ll be getting two platforms rolled into one.
Companies love to blame price hikes on inflation, but is that actually the case? When Disney+ debuted in November 2019, it offered one ad-free plan for $6.99/mo. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, $6.99 in November 2019 has the same buying power as $8.69 in March* 2025.
To get that same ad-free experience in March 2025, you’d have to pay $15.99/mo. A far cry from $8.69! Even Disney+’s cheaper tier is over a dollar more than that per month.
*the latest month in the Bureau’s records as of writing.

Plenty of customers feel loyal to Disney
Disney+ didn’t win any of Customer Satisfaction awards after our 2025 survey, but it did do well in the price and loyalty categories—fourth and fifth place, respectively. Otherwise, it usually fell in the middle of the pack, with a mediocre satisfaction rating of 77%. (The highest-rated services were Max and Discovery+, with 84%, and the lowest was Crackle with 62%).
What customers say about Disney+
"Prices keep increasing. I've never had an issue with them, but the prices do keep increasing."
"I like the wide selection Disney+ has to offer in content. I like that they have adult shows too, not just children's Disney stuff."

Disney+ is unapologetically dedicated to branded content. It’s a must-have if you’re a fan of Marvel or Star Wars. But I’ve been disappointed in its original-original content in recent years. The platform used to produce originals outside of its biggest IPs, but those titles (like Willow and The Mysterious Benedict Society) were swiftly canceled and then removed from the platform. It’s disheartening to see one of the biggest media companies in the world throw away entire projects and commit to churning out the same two types of shows. And I’m saying this as a Marvel fan!
To me, Disney+ feels like an experiment that Disney got tired of, doesn’t know what to do with, and is possibly regretting. I fully expect them to do away with Disney+ and Hulu as individual services in the near future, replacing them with a fully bundled service with a steep price tag and even fewer original titles.

Disney+ cost FAQ
How much does Disney+ cost?
Disney+ costs $9.99–$15.99/mo. or $159.99/yr.
What do you get for $4.99 on Disney+?
Unfortunately, nothing. Although Disney’s streaming service began at the affordable price of $6.99/mo., today’s prices are now much higher. You won’t find many streaming services with that low a price tag in 2025.
