DISH and DIRECTV are both satellite TV providers, and you can get them nearly anywhere in the US. But being common doesn’t mean they’re basic—both have tons of channels and excellent TV equipment. Just watch out for those two-year contracts.
But DISH and DIRECTV don’t offer internet plans. If you want to save a bit of cash with a bundle deal, consider getting your TV through your internet company.
AT&T, Xfinity, and Google Fiber all have both TV and super-fast internet plans. With download speeds up to 1,000 Mbps, any of them can keep up with all the streams, online games, and large file downloads you can throw at them.
Cable TV and internet bundles in Atlanta
If you’re looking to save some money by getting your TV and internet through one company, AT&T and Xfinity are on the same page as you. Both will give you a discount when you bundle two services with them.
On the other hand, Google Fiber keeps its TV service on the DL. You can get Google Fiber TV only if you’re already signing up for internet, and there’s no discount for bundling. But Google Fiber at least throws in your first TV box for free.

A special favorite of Atlanta’s is Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (also known as MBC or WKTB-CD5), a Korean-language program. Xfinity is the only Atlanta company advertising that it offers this channel, but you might find it hidden among the local channels of another service.
Another hard-to-find channel is beIN SPORTS. This scarce-as-hen’s-teeth network comes only in top-tier packages: AT&T U-verse U450, DISH America’s Top 250, and DIRECTV PREMIER. Xfinity decided not to be in the beIN SPORTS fanclub, apparently.
Excluding those two channels, here’s a list of the most affordable packages that offer Atlanta’s favorite networks.

‡ for 24. months. New customers only. All offers require 2-year commitment with early termination fee and eAutopay. Price includes Hopper Duo for qualifying customers.
You’ll get the best deal with DIRECTV’s XTRA package, but Xfinity’s Preferred package is only one cent and a handful of channels behind. You can save $20 per month on these Xfinity packages by bundling with an internet service.
Saving $20 per month is a mighty fine deal, if you ask us.
Atlanta sports coverage
Other cities have sports spread over lots of channels. But you live in Atlanta, where you can follow the local football, soccer, baseball, and basketball games on just three channels.

You can find the Braves on FOX Sports South / Southeast. The United FC are on FOX Sports South / Southeast and the CW. NBA fans can find the Hawks on FOX Sports Southeast, and NFL fans can follow the Falcons on the CW.
The CW is an easy find. Even a TV antenna will hook you up with this local channel, which will scratch that football and basketball itch.
But providers don’t tend to list regional sports channels like FOX Sports Southeast in their lineups—and DISH simply doesn’t offer them after a dispute with FOX. But we can promise you you’ll find it on DIRECTV’s PREMIER package, so that’s the way to go if you want to follow the Braves and Hawks.
Local Atlanta channels
If you’re looking for your local channels, you’re in luck—Atlanta TV providers offer them on their smallest packages and up. Most of them don’t got enough gumption to advertise all the local channels available in the area, but there’s a likely chance you’ll get all your favorites in any package.

Yes, we know it’s technically not a cable service—it’s satellite. But oddly enough, Atlanta primarily has fiber and satellite TV services, with Xfinity being the only provider of cable TV. And Xfinity is fine, especially if you save from bundling TV with internet, but it’s not the powerhouse DISH is.
