Customers love Verizon Fios—just check out our customer satisfaction surveys for internet and TV. With Verizon’s powerful fiber network, you’ll be zipping along the internet and watching TV with a crystal-clear picture.
We like this package specifically for its colossal channel lineup and superfast download speeds. Plus, the unlimited data is a must-have for families with lots of internet users—no overage fees to worry about here.
To top that off, your equipment rentals come included with this bundle. Your Verizon Fios internet will run on the new Fios Router, which comes with the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology.
You’ll also get one HD set-top box and a standard DVR with 50 hours of HD storage and 2 simultaneous recordings. Yeah, that’s not a dazzling DVR by any means, but for only $8 a month, you can upgrade to Verizon’s Multi-Room DVR-Enhanced with 100 hours of HD storage and 6 simultaneous recordings.
So, while Verizon doesn’t offer discounts for bundling (stick around for our Xfinity package if that’s your thing), we don’t think it can be beat for the best overall package. It’s on the pricy side, no doubt, but you get what you pay for.
If you want worry-free TV and internet with the flexibility that comes when you’re contract-free, Verizon Fios Gigabit Connection + The Most Fios TV will treat you splendidly.

At only $125 monthly for your first year, Core TV and Optimum 300 is cheaper, faster, and a better deal than many competing entry-level TV and internet bundles. On most of these competitor packages, you’ll get a 100 Mbps or 200 Mbps internet plan alongside a 100-channel package. But Optimum’s 300 Mbps internet plan will cover most families’ internet needs, and Core TV includes basic cable standards like MTV and ESPN.

The Spectrum Internet Gig + TV Select Signature comes with download speeds up to 1 Gbps and several premium add-on options—in short, this Spectrum TV and internet package is marvelous for streaming and movie watching.
Unfortunately, the package no longer includes premium channels, but its channel add-on packages range between only $7.00 and $15.00 per month.
If you want a cheaper deal, the Internet 300 Mbps + TV Select Signature plan has 300 Mbps that are still fast enough for most homes. And Spectrum throws in a free modem (the Wi-Fi router is another $5.00 a month), and you’ll have no data caps or annual contract.

If you love to save big, Xfinity will make you feel like a real winner. When you bundle TV and internet with Xfinity, you’ll save $20 off the two services’ regular price. Heck, if you want phone service too, you’ll save a total of $40 off all three services.
Along with zippy 800 Mbps service, the Superfast Internet + Ultimate TV package comes with Xfinity’s most extensive channel lineup in the West region.
If you’re a student, be sure to check out the exclusive deal Xfinity offers just for you.
This Xfinity package is an excellent fit for families, though you’ll need to keep an eye on the 1.2 TB data cap. Other than that, sit back, enjoy your savings, and turn on SHOWTIME already.

If you live in a rural area, it can be tricky to find a provider that offers both TV and internet. So unlike the other bundles in our rankings, you’ll get this satellite TV and fiber internet deal from two separate providers.
DIRECTV CHOICE has a pretty good channel lineup, although you’ll want to upgrade to ULTIMATE for the full sports experience, including NHL Network. Unfortunately, regardless of the plan, DIRECTV no longer carries NFL SUNDAY TICKET.
Only two of these bundles are fiber, though. CenturyLink DSL internet is less of a touchdown, we’ll admit—depending on where you live, its speeds may max out at only 15 Mbps. But if you’re getting the max CenturyLink DSL speed of 200 Mbps, you’ll be sitting pretty. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for you.
This bundle is a good fit if you live in a rural area because while your rural internet speeds may not be exhilarating, at least DIRECTV Choice comes with tons of included perks. Plus, your stellar TV package might make up for the fact your internet may not be ideal for streaming TV online.

It’s hard to find a good TV and internet bundle under $100 these days—many companies offer cheap plans, but are often only bundling a bare-bones local TV package with their internet. As always, we never recommend paying a cable company a monthly rate for local TV, since you could just buy your own OTA antenna for a one-time payment.
Luckily though, Xtream by Mediacom is currently offering budget options that actually provide the channels you want, like FX (Essential TV) and Disney XD (Variety TV). We recommend Prime Internet 100 + Essential TV—coming in at $84.99 monthly. This plan gives you decent download speeds while also providing 125+ cable channels. Other providers have higher channel counts, but you won’t find a cheaper starting price.
If internet speed is more important to you, a good alternative is Internet 300 + Essential TV plan, where you’ll get over double the amount of monthly data. The best part? Internet 300 + Essential TV is only $104.99 monthly.
If you’re looking to spend a little more over $100 for better service though, Xfinity might have some better deals depending on your location.
Internet and live TV streaming
Cable TV and internet bundles aren’t for everyone, of course, and cutting the chord is a great option for a lot of our readers. Be careful, though, because live TV streaming services can be more expensive than traditional cable TV.
Based on price and channel count alone, only a couple of live TV streaming services make sense if you’re looking to save a buck on internet and TV service.
In terms of tight budgets, Philo ($25 per month for 60+ cable channels) and Sling TV ($40.00–$55.00/mo. per month for 30–45+ cable channels) are your two best options.
It may sound counterintuitive, but the right cable TV and internet bundle can get you more cable channels and save you money.
What to look for in TV and internet packages and deals
If you’re more of the DIY-type, it’s not too hard to find a good TV and internet package. Here’s what you should look for when you strike out on your own.
Price
The TV and internet packages we looked at ranged from $30 to over $220 per month, with an average cost of about $110 per month.
We recommend you skip out on any packages that only offer local TV—you can get that cheaper with a digital antenna. Without those local TV plans, expect your cheapest TV and internet bundles to start at around $75 per month.
The only time you should pay more than $150 a month is when you get zooming fast download speeds (over 500 Mbps) plus a hefty channel lineup. Our recommended best overall package, Verizon Fios Gigabit Connection + The Most Fios TV, costs $209.98 per month and comes with some awesome freebies and perks.
Channel lineup
High channel counts are lovely to see, but they don’t tell the whole story. Before you sign your TV life away to any cable package, know which channels you’re getting.
We’ve made this part easy for you. Check out all the channel lineups we’ve gathered below.
Internet speed
There’s a lot that goes into how fast your internet runs (we’ve got a complete guide on that), but your download and upload speeds work as a general guideline.
We recommend getting an internet plan with at least 100 Mbps download speed and 10 Mbps upload speed. If you’re the only one at home, you can probably get away with less, but you’ll start noticing slowing if you have many devices connected to the internet.
If you have a family or work from home, shoot for faster speeds like 200 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload—or more if it’s in your budget. And be sure you get unlimited data with your internet plan, or else you’ll have to be careful not to accrue overage charges.
Find the best TV and internet deals near you
There are some great cable and Wi-Fi deals out there if you know what to look for. But these plans are all restricted to areas where the providers offer service. You’ll need to know which TV and internet providers can get you connected before you sign up.
Enter your zip code below, and we’ll take you to a list of the major TV and internet providers in your area. Let’s get crackin’!
Best cable and internet deals FAQ
Who has the best internet and cable bundle?
- Verizon Fios Internet 1 Gig + The Most Fios TV—best overall
- Spectrum Internet Gig + TV Select Signature Spectrum—best for channel add-ons
- DIRECTV ULTIMATE All-Included + CenturyLink Internet—best for rural areas
- Xfinity Fast Internet + Ultimate TV—best for discounts
- Mediacom Prime Internet 100 + Essential TV—best under $100
Is it cheaper to bundle TV and internet?
Most, but not all, providers will give you a discount when you bundle TV and internet with them. Xfinity is outstandingly generous when you bundle—it gives you a $20 per month discount on every service after the first one. You can read our review of Xfinity’s Fast Internet + Ultimate TV bundle above.
What is the cheapest TV and internet package?
You can get TV and internet packages starting at $30 per month, but we wouldn’t recommend any of those bundles. With prices that low, the TV package is only a selection of local channels. You can get local media for less cash with a digital antenna.
Who offers cable and internet packages without an annual contract or term agreement?
Optimum, Astound Broadband Powered by RCN, Spectrum, and Verizon Fios all offer cable TV and internet packages without annual contracts.
Do I have to get cable TV with internet?
Most internet providers offer internet packages without cable TV—and some internet providers don’t have TV options at all. To learn more about how to get internet without cable or a phone line (and see the cheapest prices), check out our standalone internet FAQ.
