Maybe you want to see your favorite TV series and stars honored with extra pomp and circumstance. Or perhaps you hope all awards shows have celebrity-on-celebrity fisticuffs now that Will Smith and Chris Rock blazed the trail.
Your motivations don’t matter to us—we’ll still tell you how to watch the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards live on NBC this Monday, September 12.
What are the Primetime Emmy Awards?
The Emmys are to TV what the Oscars are to film: a televised awards show where celebrities get dressed up to be elevated or let down—while we cheer and jeer from our couches. And the Primetime Emmys recognize artistic and technical merit in television series that air after we’re home from work with dinner in our bellies (or are available to stream or download in at least half of the US).
Where to watch the Primetime Emmy Awards
NBC is the network you need to watch the Primetime Emmys live. One network to rule them all (until the exclusivity contract expires).
How to watch the Primetime Emmy Awards on NBC
Most traditional (cable and satellite) TV providers and live TV streaming services carry the NBC network. We recommend DISH Network for traditional TV providers and YouTube TV for streaming.
Another way to watch the Primetime Emmys is with an over-the-air (OTA) TV antenna. They’re affordable ($25–$60), easy to install, and they’ll pick up your local NBC affiliate and many other live TV channels.
How to watch the Primetime Emmy Awards on Peacock
If something prevents you from watching the Primetime Emmys live, you can stream the festivities free on demand—after the fact, of course—on the Emmys website. Just sign up for a free account, and you’re all set.
