Red Carpets and Gold Statues: Your 2026 Oscars Weekend TV Schedule

Here’s what’s happening with the Oscars on Sunday, March 15, the biggest awards spectacle of the year.

A man wearing glasses talks on the phone in his hotel room.

The biggest awards show of them all, the Oscars (aka the 98th Academy Awards), takes place on Sunday, March 15, with host Conan O’Brien. Will “One Battle After Another” sweep the Oscars as it did at the Golden Globes? Should we expect another virtual shutout for “Sinners”? Are we finally going to learn what a “Hamnet” is? So many questions, but just one Oscars telecast.
Here’s when and where to watch all of the Oscars weekend coverage in 2026.

ABC Oscars 2026 TV schedule

Until 2029, when the Oscars jumps to YouTube, the awards show will be broadcast on its longtime home of ABC. Most cable, satellite, and live TV streaming services carry your local ABC affiliate station, and you can also stream ABC on the ABC app for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or Apple TV devices, or through ABC.com (with your TV provider credentials).

What’s the Oscars without a red carpet preshow? ABC has its own official Academy Awards red carpet coverage, but it’s only a half-hour long. Cable network E!, on the other hand, dedicates two hours to the arrival of celebs with its “Live From the Red Carpet” program, usually starting around 4 p.m. ET.

How to watch the 2026 Oscars for free

One of the simplest and least costly ways to watch the Oscars on ABC is with a digital over-the-air antenna that receives your local ABC channel. Buy it once, and you’ll have access to free broadcast TV forever (or at least as long as local channels exist).

You can’t get free trials with cable or satellite TV, but some live TV streaming services do let you take them for a spin at no cost for a limited time. Just don’t forget to cancel before the trial period ends, or you’ll be charged for a month with no Oscars.
