How to Watch Every Final Destination Movie in Order

You can’t escape death forever! Catch up on all the Final Destination movies before Final Destination Bloodlines hits the theaters this May.

How many Final Destination movies are there?

There are a total of six Final Destination movies, including the latest iteration of the franchise, Final Destination Bloodlines (May 16, 2025).

Starting back in 2000 with the first Final Destination starring Devon Sawa, fans of the series have wondered less about who is going to die, but how they’ll die.

With each Rube Goldberg machine-style setup, one by one we see each character reach their all-too-timely fates. (For me, most of the fun is seeing how each scene has multiple Chekov’s guns that all stack up and go off at the perfect time.)

If you need a quick refresher before Bloodlines, we’ve got you covered on all the info you need to watch every Final Destination movie in order on your favorite streaming services.

How to watch the Final Destination movies in chronological order

Most Final Destination titles follow a numerical pattern, with The Final Destination (no, not the OG classic) and the upcoming Final Destination Bloodlines being the outliers, but the chronological order is a bit different for reasons we won’t spoil (yet).

With that in mind, you can use the JustWatch.com links below to find where you can stream, rent, or buy the Final Destination movies via on-demand streaming TV services or video-on-demand (VOD) retailers like Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. Tickets for Final Destination Bloodlines are available through Fandango.

Where to watch Final Destination 5 (2011)

Thanks to a prophetic vision, a group of coworkers barely escapes death during a suspension bridge collapse—but as we know from the Final Destination franchise, death always catches up. With stellar effects, fun and inventive kills, and a dark tone, the prequel Final Destination 5 (yes, you read that right) survives to this day with strong ratings.

Where to watch Final Destination (2000)

The original Final Destination starts with a teenager’s vision of him and his classmates perishing in a plane crash on their way to Paris, but fortunately, due to his freak out, they are spared—but not for long. This initial exploration features one of the most unexpected examples of the now-famous “hit by a random bus” trope we’ve seen even in films like Mean Girls.

Where to watch Final Destination 2 (2003)

This is the flick that scarred me into changing lanes when driving behind a truck with a big load. The first sequel in the Final Destination series begins with a highway pileup premonition, which saves people from the car-accident carnage—for a little while. The deaths are more outrageous and gnarly and feature a fun crossover of the first film’s characters.

Where to watch Final Destination 3 (2006)

You may never want to lie down in a tanning bed again after Final Destination 3. The usual narrowly escaping-death setup starts with a roller coaster ride gone awry and keeps pulling audiences through all the ups and downs of life-after-the-fact as the teens try to dodge death’s design.

Where to watch The Final Destination (2009)

In a losing race against time, those who escape death during a racetrack accident find themselves avoiding their awaited fates. With plenty of mechanical manslaughter (and first appearing in 3D) audiences get an up-close-and-personal drive with death in The Final Destination.

Stefani has a recurring dream of death in an accident, but she finds out it’s a real event that took place involving her grandmother, who survived and escaped death. Now, death has come to collect all those who shouldn’t be alive in her bloodline. The sixth and latest installment in the legendary franchise is sure to pay service to those fans who can’t wait to see where fate falls.

How to watch the Final Destination movies in order FAQ

Will there be a Final Destination 7?

No official production has been announced for Final Destination 7, but back in 2011, actor Tony Todd said that if Final Destination 5 performed well at the box office, there could be sequels filmed simultaneously.

A lot has changed since then, so I wouldn’t hold your breath on that statement alone. Still, if Bloodlines can manage to rake in a lot of money nearly 25 years after the original, it’s hard to see the Final Destination franchise making its last stop.

In what order should I watch Final Destination movies?

It’s probably best to experience all the twists and turns in theatrical release order. But if you want to watch them in chronological order to see the in-universe history as it unfolds, you’ll need to start with Final Destination 5 and then continue with the rest of the films in theatrical release order.
