Black Friday is the best time of year to buy that 65-inch TV that has you all slobbery. Is it, by any chance, the Samsung QN90B (QN65QN90BAFXZA)? If so, OMG same! Our TV experts recommend it for its detailed picture quality, stellar performance in light or dark rooms, and immersive 3D sound—among other things.
If you’re looking for something more affordable, the Hisense U8H is the best 65-inch TV under $1,000. Or, if you’re a bargain hunter seeking the best 65-inch TV deal, we’ve found the Samsung QN90B bundled with a Mackie soundbar for the same price as the TV alone.
SAMSUNG QN90B: Best 65-Inch TV
We already love Samsung smart TVs. The Samsung QN90B (QN65QN90BAFXZA) uses mini-LED technology in the brand’s Neo QLED display. Combined with 4K resolution and Quantum HDR 32x, this 65-inch TV produces a bright, colorful, richly detailed picture that resists glare and offers a wide viewing angle.
The QN90B has Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound+, which pairs well with the Real Depth Enhancer for an immersive 3D audio/video experience. And FreeSync Premium Pro makes the QN90B a solid gaming TV by zapping lag.
The Samsung TV boasts a slew of additional features, like a webcam that enables video calling, eye comfort mode, the Samsung TV Plus streaming service, and its smart capabilities, which allow you to run many streaming TV, gaming, and lifestyle apps. And the QN90B is an excellent value at around $1,600 for the 65-inch version.
Hisense U8H: Best 65-inch TV under $1,000
Hisense TVs may not be as feature-rich as pricier Samsung or LG TVs, but they’re a fantastic value nonetheless. For our money, the Hisense U8H smart TV is the best 65-inch TV under $1,000. Like the Samsung QN90B, it employs mini-LED technology for a superb 4K HDR picture with enhanced control over brightness, color volume, and contrast.
The U8H has Dolby Atmos, so the sound quality is good. But it’s not quite as good as the QN90B’s Dolby Atmos/Object Tracking Sound+ combo.
Like the QN90B, the U8H has a game mode feature with an Auto Low Latency Mode, Dolby Vision Gaming, 120Hz variable refresh rate, and FreeSync Premium Pro. And, while the U8H doesn’t have as many features as the QN90B, it’s not exactly lacking. It has Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, and a voice remote.

SAMSUNG QN90B with Mackie CR-STEALTHBAR: Best 65-Inch TV deal
What could make the Samsung QN90B (QN65QN90BAFXZA) even better? A soundbar. Don’t get us wrong: we think you’ll be happy with the sound of the QN90B’s stock speakers, but a soundbar makes your home theater feel more like a movie theater—especially if you prefer physical media, which tends to have better sound mixes than streaming TV.
The Mackie CR-STEALTHBAR retails for around $118, but Amazon includes it in a bundle with the QN90B for only $1,667.98. That’s a savings of $50 on top of the QN90B’s already reasonable price. It’s one of the best 65-inch TV deals we’ve found.
