Streaming Finally Beats Linear TV (Momentarily)

Did you hear that? That was the sound of the bottom falling out of linear television (standard broadcast, cable, and satellite) last month. According to TV ratings and data firm Nielsen, viewership for linear TV dropped below 50% for the first time ever in July 2023, just as streaming TV usage hit a record high of 38.7%, an increase of nearly 3% over June.
