8 Netflix Shows That Will Have You Absolutely Hooked
Hi guys! I’m following up on my TikTok about the top Netflix favorites of 2025 that had me so hooked, I didn’t check my phone once. They literally made me forget I even *had* a phone. If you need shows that’ll actually hold your attention, these are it.
1. Missing You (2025)
Starting off strong with Missing You on Netflix. This one absolutely wrecked me. If you’re into romance and tragedy, this one is perfect for you. It follows a detective who finds her missing fiancé on a dating app 11 years after he vanished, and spiraled into a mystery that I physically couldn’t stop watching. And it has a crazy twist that had me sobbing tears.
2. Adolescence (2025)
Next up we have Adolescence. This one honestly surprised me. I don’t want to give away too much, but it was really good so I would highly recommend it. It’s a crime drama filmed in this intense one-shot style that makes you feel like you are right there in the room as a family falls apart after their son is arrested. It was so good—go watch this immediately.
3. Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Next we have Behind Her Eyes on Netflix. The show was so good. It had me thinking it was just another messy love triangle show, but it ended up flipping and the ending was crazy. It’s a psychological thriller about a single mom who starts an affair with her boss while secretly befriending his mysterious wife. Trust me, you will never guess where this is going.
4. Black Mirror (2025)
Next up we have Black Mirror. This show is top tier. The episodes are kind of scary, but every single episode had me questioning everything. With the new season finally dropping in 2025, the tech dystopias feel more real than ever. It perfectly captures that “can’t look away” feeling even when you want to cover your eyes.
5. Prison Break (2005)
Lastly, I know I’m a little late to the party, but Prison Break was so good. I finally watched this year and the tension in the plot twist was crazy. It’s about a man who deliberately gets sent to prison to break his innocent brother out, and the suspense is almost unbearable. Please go watch this anyways.
6. The Survivors (2025)
If you loved the mystery of Missing You, you have to check out The Survivors. This Australian mystery series on Netflix is about a seaside town haunted by a tragedy from 15 years ago, and it is completely addictive. The secrets keep piling up, and just when you think you know who the “bad guy” is, the show pulls the rug out from under you. It is the definition of a binge-worthy thriller.
7. The Waterfront (2025)
Imagine Ozark meets Succession—that is exactly what The Waterfront delivers. It follows the Buckley family as their fishing empire crumbles and they turn to dangerous measures to keep it afloat. The family drama is toxic, the stakes are life-and-death, and I was glued to the screen watching their empire spiral out of control.
8. Dept. Q (2025)
This Netflix adaptation of the Nordic noir novels is dark, gritty, and fantastic. It follows a cold case unit in Scotland, and the chemistry between the detectives is top notch. If you like your crime shows with a little bit of humor mixed into the darkness, this is going to be your new obsession.
