13 Best Movies Coming to Netflix in 2026

I don’t know about you, but my watchlist for 2026 is already overflowing. Between massive reunions of our favorite Hollywood duos and highly anticipated book adaptations, Netflix is absolutely crushing it this year.
That’s why we’re revisiting our viral TikTok video where we first highlighted these bangers, and I’ve expanded the list to include even more upcoming releases you’ll love.
Not only that, but I just added a comprehensive list of all the new movies coming to Netflix for all of my fellow binge-watchers out there who can’t get enough of the Big Red N.
But before we go there, whether you’re into high-stakes crime thrillers or raunchy office comedies, let’s count off the best new Netflix movies you should have on your radar.
13. “War Machine” | Now streaming
If you need some sci-fi action, “War Machine” landed in March. Starring Alan Ritchson and Dennis Quaid, it follows a special ops boot camp that gets interrupted by a deadly force from another world. I’m a sucker for “survival against all odds” stories, and Ritchson is the perfect lead for this kind of high-octane spectacle.
12. “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man” | Now streaming
Tommy Shelby is back, and the stakes have never been higher. This feature film continues the story from the hit series, setting Tommy in the middle of World War II-era Birmingham. I’ve missed Cillian Murphy in this role, and seeing him face his demons one last time is going to be an emotional rollercoaster.
11. “The Rip” | Now streaming
Released on January 16, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite in “The Rip.” It’s a high-stakes crime thriller about Miami cops who find a stash house full of cash, and things go south really quickly. I love a good paranoia flick where you can’t tell who will betray whom, and having these two back together on screen is pure cinema magic.
10. “People We Meet on Vacation” | Now streaming
Right now, everyone is watching “People We Meet on Vacation,” and for good reason. It’s based on the massive Emily Henry novel and stars Tom Blyth and Emily Bader, who have so much chemistry it’s almost unfair. I was obsessed with the book’s friends-to-lovers tension, and seeing Poppy and Alex’s annual summer trips come to life is exactly the sunshine we need in January.
9. “Apex” | April 24
Charlize Theron returns to her action-star roots in “Apex,” where she plays a grieving widow living in the wilderness who is suddenly hunted by a serial killer. I love a good cat-and-mouse thriller, and with Taron Egerton co-starring, the tension in this one is going to be through the roof.
8. “Swapped” | May 1
Turns out that Michael B. Jordan can do voice acting as well. Fresh off his historic Oscars run, the leading man is heading up an all-star cast (Juno Temple, Tracy Morgan, et al.) in this animated woodland take on the classic body-swap picture. I love Tracy Morgan, and Michael B. Jordan has had me hooked since his role in “The Wire,” so this should be a fun romp. —Mike Strayer, Managing Editor
7. “Remarkably Bright Creatures” | May 8
Based on the viral novel, this mystery drama stars Sally Field as Tova, a widow who befriends a giant Pacific octopus at an aquarium. It sounds quirky, but the book was a total tearjerker. I think Tova’s journey toward uncovering the truth about her son’s disappearance will be one of the most moving performances of the year.
6. “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew” | Dec. 25
My most anticipated movie of the year is “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew,” which is coming next Christmas. Directed by Greta Gerwig (“Barbie” and “Lady Bird”), this is the start of a whole new Narnia era for Netflix. I’ve heard it’s going to have a limited IMAX run in November before it hits the streamer, and I personally can’t wait to see how Gerwig handles the origin of the Wardrobe and the White Witch. (Note: The film gets an IMAX release on Nov. 26.)
5. “Animals” | TBD
Ben Affleck isn’t just acting this year; he’s also directing “Animals.” This kidnapping thriller stars Matt Damon alongside Kerry Washington. I’ve always felt Affleck is at his best when he’s directing intense, character-driven dramas, and this plot sounds like it’s going to be a real white-knuckle ride.
4. “Mexico 86” | TBD
What better way to prep for the World Cup this summer than to watch a dramedy about the penultimate time the World Cup was hosted in North America: Mexico, 1986. Even though we don’t know a ton about the movie yet, we do know that the charming Diego Luna (“Y Tu Mamá También” and “Andor”) will star and that the plot promises to lay bare the wild story of how a country under siege pulled it off. Just one question: Who’ll play Maradona? —Mike Strayer, Managing Editor
3. “Office Romance” | TBD
For the rom-com lovers out there, Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein star in the blandly titled “Office Romance.” The name may be snoozy, but I’m particularly excited for this one because Goldstein (our favorite “Ted Lasso” grump) actually co-wrote the script. It’s been teased as a bit more raunchy than J.Lo’s usual fare, which should make for a hilarious and steamy workplace dynamic.
2. “The Whisper Man” | TBD
Robert De Niro in a crime thriller? Count me in. This adaptation of Alex North’s bestseller follows a widowed writer whose son vanishes in a town with a dark history of child abductions. I think adding Michael Keaton to the cast really elevates the grit factor for this one.
1. “Here Comes the Flood” | TBD
Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson together in a heist movie is all I need to know to get it on my list. That said, the alluring plot, directed by Fernando Meirelles, features a deadly series of double-crosses between a bank security guard and a master thief. I’m already trying to guess the ending, and I know it’s going to keep me on the edge of my seat.
