Oy with the poodles already! This October 5 marks 25 years since Gilmore Girls first welcomed us to Stars Hollow, and we’re here to help you binge and relive all our favorite couch-cuddling memories this fall.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of our favorite cozy, pop-peppered show, we researched just how much coffee was crushed, surveyed fans about Rory’s (undeserving, yeah, I said it) boyfriends, and are even launching a Gilmore Girls dream job on Insta.

But first, let’s rewind the clock a little and bask in some love for the silver-tongued fam-dram comedy that you go back to again and again.

Gilmore Girls nostalgia is peaking (again)

For a quarter of a century (I’m not old, you’re old), Gilmore Girls has been the show a lot of us turn to for its witty banter, heartwarming moments, and, of course, its unapologetic love for coffee.

The fictional town of Stars Hollow, with its quirky residents (Kirk, I’m looking at you) and charming atmosphere, feels like a real place to escape to, even if it truly is just another iteration of the iconic Warner Bros. “Town Square” lot.

Its recent reboot, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, brought our favorite characters back and proved that the magic of the show is still alive and well. And the recent reunion of stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel at the Emmys also sparked a wave of nostalgia for fans.

We say let the nostalgia flow like a black cup o’ joe!

What’s Gilmore Girls if not coffee, coffee, coffee?

It’s no secret that Lorelai and Rory are fueled by coffee, but we discovered some fun facts about coffee consumption throughout Seasons 1–7 thanks to a fan-watch analysis from Forever Young Adult.

  • Lorelai and Rory drank an estimated 503 cups of coffee on screen.
  • Season 1 was the most caffeinated season, with approximately 80 cups of coffee consumed.
  • The word “coffee” was mentioned 621 times in the scripts, an average of four times per episode.
  • Lorelai alone drank 248 cups of coffee.

The great Gilmore Girls boyfriend debate is back

But coffee is just one of the gals’ many well-timed bits. The real sentimental meat comes from one of the most enduring debates among Gilmore Girls fans: Who was the best boyfriend for Rory?

Was it her sweet and dependable first love, Dean? The rebellious and literary bad boy, Jess? (The sound of that bike, amirite?) Or the charming and wealthy college beau, Logan? We asked fans to weigh in, and the results are as divided as ever:

  • Dean: 27%
  • Jess: 27%
  • Logan: 30%
  • None of the above: 16%

It seems the debate is still far from over, with the vote nearly tied between the three leading contenders. My take? Marry Dean (mostly sweet and well-intentioned). Kill Logan (obnoxious college brat). And well, I already mentioned the bike, so …

And now, for your Gilmore Girls dream job

But as a Vicious Trollop, you probably already have your opinions (sound off on Insta). What you’re probably actually here for is a chance to grab some easy cash. So, without further ado, to celebrate the 25th anniversary, we’re launching a dream job for the ultimate Gilmore Girls fan.

We’ll hook you up with a $200 Visa gift card and a $50 Starbucks gift card to binge-watch your favorite season of the show over one weekend. It’s our little way of celebrating the stars of Stars Hollow. To enter, follow us on Instagram for more details.
