Netflix in October 2025: A month of thrills and chills.

October on Netflix was a lot, right? I swear, just when I thought I was ready to step away from the TV, they dropped another blockbuster season or a terrifying limited series that had the whole internet buzzing. My streaming queue overflowed, but I dove in and came out the other side with a list of recs.

I’m talking about the shows that dominated the Top 10 lists and kept me up way too late. From a long-awaited fantasy return to some genuinely unnerving true crime, here are the five Netflix shows that absolutely defined my October. Trust me, if you missed any of these, you have some serious catching up to do!

1. The Witcher Season 4

Okay, let’s address the elephant in the room: the recasting of Geralt. I’ll admit, I went into this season with some fear, but Liam Hemsworth stepped up. The energy felt different, for sure, but Geralt’s story—the battle-weary monster hunter trying to protect Ciri while war ravages a continent—was stronger than ever.

I absolutely loved how this season leaned into the epic fantasy, making it feel grander and darker. Watching Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri navigate their separate but equally dangerous paths kept me clicking “Next Episode” faster than I’d like to admit. It was the perfect pre-Halloween show.

2. The Diplomat Season 3

If you know me, you know I love a fast-paced thriller, and The Diplomat delivered its best season to date. Keri Russell as Kate Wyler is electric, and the stakes this time felt impossibly high. After the shocking end of Season 2, I was on the edge of my seat to see how Kate would navigate the new world order.

The dialogue is still so incredibly sharp, and the combination of global crisis and the messy, complicated relationship with Hal (played by Rufus Sewell) is what makes this show a total winner. It’s smart, tense, and made me feel like I was getting an insider’s look into Washington’s high-stakes power plays. A must-watch.

3. Monster: The Ed Gein Story

Talk about a show that arrived just in time for spooky season. Ryan Murphy’s latest true-crime anthology hit me harder than I expected. I’m usually not a fan of straight-up horror, but the psychological depth of the creepy performance by Charlie Hunnam as the titular Ed Gein made this a morbidly compelling watch.

What interested me most was the focus on the psychological decay and how the crimes impacted an isolated 1950s Wisconsin community. It’s heavy viewing, no doubt, but the meticulous production and unsettling honesty made it an undeniable October obsession for countless viewers, including me. I had to watch a comedy right after just to clear my head!

4. Nobody Wants This Season 2

After the first season, I was fully invested in Joann and Noah’s hilariously awkward yet sweet journey. This season, they really dove into the reality of making a completely mismatched relationship work, which I found so relatable.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody have this incredible, understated chemistry that makes every fight and every heartfelt moment feel genuine. It’s the perfect show to binge when you need a break from high-stakes drama. It’s funny, it’s insightful, and it’s the kind of rom-com comfort food that makes you feel good about being a messy adult.

5. Selling Sunset Season 9

What is October without a little real-estate drama? Seriously, this show is my guilty pleasure. I live for the over-the-top houses, the designer outfits, and, of course, the completely insane office politics at The Oppenheim Group. Season 9 brought all the drama I crave: new agents shaking things up, professional rivalries reaching new heights, and just general, beautiful chaos.

Watching the agents try to hold it all together while selling multi-million dollar homes is pure, irresistible reality TV gold. If you need to turn off your brain and just enjoy some glamorous cattiness, this is your ticket.
