ESPN Unlimited is a new product that includes every ESPN-owned channel. So in addition to getting access to ESPN2 and ESPNU, you’ll also get channels like ACC Network, SEC Network, and several others. ESPN Unlimited also includes all ESPN+ content.
For those who want to subscribe to ESPN Unlimited, there are various options and iterations of plans and bundles to do so. You can sign up for ESPN Unlimited on its own, through a streaming bundle, or with a cable or satellite TV plan.
I’ll explain that more below.
How do I sign up for ESPN Unlimited?
The main way to sign up for ESPN Unlimited is on its signup page. You’ll need to create a MyDisney account to subscribe if you don’t already have one. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do that.
- Visit plus.espn.com.
- For ESPN Unlimited alone, click “Get ESPN.” To bundle it with Hulu and Disney+, click “Get Bundle.”
- To bundle with ESPN Unlimited and FOX One, click “View all plan options,” then “Browse Plans,” and choose the third option.
- Once you’ve made your choice, click “Continue” on the bottom right of the page. Enter your billing info, confirm the payment, and you’re off and running.
The above process is specific to ESPN’s official website. If you’re a subscriber to major providers like DIRECTV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV, Spectrum, or Verizon Fios, you’ll have access to ESPN Unlimited. Just remember: Each service has its own activation process.
More providers are expected to offer ESPN Unlimited in the near future.
ESPN Unlimited deals and promotions
The best way to get a great deal on ESPN Unlimited is if you bundle it with Hulu and Disney+. For the first 12 months, you’d be paying just $29.99 per month with the bundle.
I must say, though, that the bundle at that price comes with ads. The premium, ad-free version might be more attractive to you, but there is no deal or promotion that goes with it. And, any live sporting events you watch on ESPN will have commercials.
How to try ESPN Unlimited for free
ESPN Unlimited by itself doesn’t offer a free trial, and you can’t easily get a free trial for it by bundling with other services. Sometimes, Hulu + Live TV—which offers ESPN Unlimited through the ESPN app—has free trials, but they’re of varying lengths and not always available.
Stream with DIRECTV offers a five-day free trial, and it includes ESPN Unlimited. You’ll need to sign up for one of the service’s four Signature packages or the MySports Genre pack, but it’s a way to try ESPN Unlimited before committing financially.
Fubo also offers a five-day free trial. Its main packages all include ESPN Unlimited.
ESPN Unlimited features and user experience at a glance
How you experience ESPN Unlimited depends on the streaming platform you use. I’ll try to give you the broadest overview of the service’s features. Just know that these may vary.
SportsCenter For You
The ESPN mobile app has a feature it calls SportsCenter For You, which is a riff on TikTok’s For You page. It’s within the app’s Verts menu of vertical videos, and features clips based on teams or sports you’ve already shown interest in. The feature, which is in beta as of this writing, is narrated by AI-created voices of ESPN personalities.
Every ESPN channel
Subscribers to cable, satellite, or live TV streaming providers are already familiar with having ESPN and ESPN2. But the Unlimited version of ESPN also provides access to other ESPN-owned channels like the ACC Network, SEC Network, and many more. It’s perfect for people who love a side of college sports to go with their diet of the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB.
All of ESPN+
If all the channel offerings aren’t enough for you, ESPN Unlimited gives you all the content that appears on ESPN+. That means tennis, preseason games from many major sports leagues, original documentaries, and much more.
Simultaneous streams, replays
Sometimes the sports calendar dictates needing to have two games on at once. Luckily, ESPN Unlimited allows subscribers to use the service on up to three devices. It also allows you to replay games, and rewind live games on those same three devices.
