Tennis Channel’s Delayed Hulu + Live TV Debut Frustrates Subscribers

Tennis Channel on Hulu + Live TV

Hulu + Live TV subscribers waiting for Tennis Channel to drop on January 1 were disappointed to see the sports network missing. However, the channel is still likely to debut on the live TV streaming service this month.

In July 2023, Sinclair announced four channels would arrive on Hulu + Live TV in January 2024. Subscribers of Hulu’s live TV streaming tiers would get Tennis Channel, T2, Comet, and CHARGE! However, Sinclair and Hulu didn’t reveal a specific launch date.

Hulu subscribers voice concerns

Frustration and curiosity prompted a flurry of comments on social media platforms as Hulu + Live TV subscribers expressed their disappointment regarding the absence of Tennis Channel.

Hulu Support offered general responses with no updates on Tennis Channel’s arrival. In a January 1 response, the Hulu Support account replied to an X (formerly Twitter) user, saying, “We don’t have any details to share about the rights to offer the Tennis Channel in our lineup at this time.”

Tennis Channel is still coming to Hulu + Live TV

While anticipation remains high, Tennis Channel’s Hulu debut is imminent. A representative from Sinclair shared insight, claiming Tennis Channel will land on Hulu + Live TV on January 11.

One part of the Sinclair–Hulu deal that remains unclear is whether Tennis Channel will feature in Hulu + Live TV’s base plan or Sports Add-On.

Tennis Channel could boost Hulu + Live TV’s base channel lineup, which is light on sports networks. It could also give Hulu + Live TV an edge over rival YouTube TV, which offers Tennis Channel in its Sports Plus Add-on for an extra $10.99 a month.

Crucial events on Tennis Channel

The 2024 ATP Tour and WTA Tour seasons are underway—meaning access to Tennis Channel is crucial for fans.

In the U.S., the network is the exclusive broadcaster of most tennis tournaments in the men’s and women’s elite circuits. It also shows supplementary coverage of the four Grand Slams—including the upcoming Australian Open.
