Li’l Death: Where to Watch ‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’
While we’ve all been obsessed with “Obsession” and stuck on (er, in) “Backrooms,” a sneaky new slasher film snuck up behind us: Jane Schoenbrun’s bloody buzzy “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.”
The film stars Hannah Einbender (“Hacks”) as Kris Williams, a budding queer filmmaker who’s landed a gig directing the next film in the “Camp Miasma” slasher series. Kris decides they absolutely must cast Billy Presley (Gillian Anderson), the original film’s final girl, and sparks fly between the two — while blood sloshes all around them.
“Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” has already thrilled the festival circuit as well as moviegoers in select cities for the past couple of weeks. On Friday, Aug. 21, it will finally get a wide theatrical release. The film currently holds the highest rating of any 2026 horror film — even “Obsession” — on Rotten Tomatoes: 95% based on 197 critics’ reviews.

When will “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” be streaming?
Since “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” is just barely getting a wide theatrical release, it could be anywhere from two to six weeks before the film is available to rent via video-on-demand (VOD) outlets.
It might be even longer before we see “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” hit a subscription streaming service. When that happens, it could be on HBO Max, which commonly streams Schoenbrun’s other two films (just not at the time of this writing). Since it’s spooky season, and “Camp Miasma” has tremendous hype behind it, I suspect we’ll see the film there by early October.

Where to watch Jane Schoenbrun’s other movies
Although HBO Max has streamed Schoenbrun’s past films, they’re not on the service right now. You might find “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair” on The Criterion Channel, which has a free 7-day trial.
Otherwise, your best bets are to rent the films from video-on-demand (VOD) retailers like Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Plex, or Prime Video.
