New anime to watch in winter 2024
As we enter 2024, Crunchyroll’s slice of the metaphorical pie continues to grow, and its former competitor Funimation is almost extinct. Regardless, there are still a few new titles you’ll want to check out.
Let’s take a peek at some of our most-anticipated winter anime:
Delicious in Dungeon
Studio Trigger’s latest masterpiece is based on the popular manga Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi. It’s about a Dungeons & Dragons–esque adventuring party who find themselves low on cash and (more importantly) food. They should give up, but their healer got eaten by a dragon, and they only have so much time to resurrect her before she gets completely digested.
To survive, they resort to eating the monsters they kill on their way to save her—and they’re actually pretty tasty.
Delicious in Dungeon is now streaming on Netflix.
Solo Leveling
In this adaptation of the beloved South Korean web novel, monsters from another dimension threaten the modern world. Much like the hero system in My Hero Academia, an economy of super-powered monster hunters works to defeat monsters (and collect the sweet loot they drop). Usually, a monster hunter’s power level is set in stone, but things change for the weakest hunter, Sung Jinwoo, when he suddenly gains access to a mysterious training program and the ability to level up.
Solo Leveling airs Saturdays on Crunchyroll.

Netflix simulcasts winter 2024
Netflix doesn’t generally do simulcasts like Crunchyroll and Hulu do, but the highly anticipated Studio Trigger anime Delicious in Dungeon is the exception to the rule. You can find new episodes weekly on Netflix.

The first new anime of 2024 is Delicious in Dungeon, the newest title from Studio Trigger. Netflix also has a huge slate of new animation coming later in 2024 and 2025, including Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry, and Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld.
