What channels are on Discovery Plus?

Discovery+ spreads 55,000+ hours of content, mostly TV series, over 26 Discovery Plus channel hubs.

Discovery Plus channel list

* Curated hub

Let’s say that each series has two seasons of 10 hour-long episodes. That’d be 2,750 different shows, which feels both crazy and accurate—there are more than two dozen different 90-Day Fiancé shows, after all.

So how do you find what you want to watch? Well, there’s a search function (text and voice). Or you can simply browse each channel hub, assuming you know a show’s home network.

To browse the Discovery Plus channel lineup, you’ll need to subscribe to the service or at least sign up for the free 7-day trial. Fortunately, we’ve already browsed the Discovery Plus channel lineup for you so you’ll know what you’re getting before you decide to sign up.

More Discovery Plus search tips

  • Discovery Plus has no live content. To watch current seasons, you’ll need a separate cable, satellite, or live TV streaming subscription.
  • Some seasons are missing due to licensing issues.
  • Some series appear in more than one channel or hub.
  • Each hub has carousel menus for easier navigation. Categories include Features, Recommended for You, Trending, All
  • Shows, Just Added, A–Z, and genre-specific sections.

Discovery Plus Originals

This hub is a mixed bag of Discovery+ content, with a little bit of everything: cooking, ghost hunting, history, lifestyle, nature, relationships, science, true crime, and more.

But just because a show is a “Discovery+ Original” doesn’t necessarily mean it’s exclusive. Some Discovery+ Originals (BattleBots, Queen of Meth) are available on other services like Spectrum and the Roku Channel. But most, including some 90-Day Fiancé spin-off series, are indeed exclusive to Discovery Plus.

More Discovery Plus Originals (partial list)

  • 90 Day: The Single Life
  • American Detective
  • BattleBots
  • The Cabins
  • Expedition: Back to the Future
  • Love Off the Grid
  • Million Dollar Wheels
  • Onision: In Real Life
  • Queen of Meth
  • Serengeti II
  • Too Large

Magnolia Network

Owned by Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, the Magnolia Network is for people who like to work with their hands, especially when it comes to renovation and restoration. But you’ll also find shows about artists, chefs, musicians, van enthusiasts, junk dealers, and (naturally) various versions of Fixer Upper (but, alas, no Fixer Upper: Paranormal, which doesn’t exist—kinda like ghosts).

Top Magnolia Network shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • (re)motel
  • Courage to Run
  • Fixer Upper
  • Hi I’m
  • The Johnnyswim Show
  • Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines
  • Salvage Dawgs
  • Super Dad
  • Van Go
  • Zest for Life

HGTV

HGTV, or Home & Garden Television, is largely on-brand, with programming about buying, selling, flipping, hunting, renovating, or restoring homes and planting, tending, harvesting gardens. So you’ll get every episode ever of 22 series including Curb Appeal, Flip or Flop, Good Bones, Holmes & Holmes, Property Brothers: Buying + Selling, Property Brothers: Forever Home, and more.

HGTV is also “The Streaming Home of House Hunters,” with 16 volumes—hundreds of episodes—of House Hunters, House Hunters International, and House Hunters Classics. But if you want to watch House Hunters: Comedians on Couches: Unfiltered, you’ll find it under Discovery+ Originals.

  • Curb Appeal

Food Network

Food Network is an endless parade of oms and noms that activates our salivary glands and threatens our willpower. And (straps on the old feed bag) we’re here for it! You’ll get all 29 seasons of Rachael Ray’s 30-Minute Meals (and five other Ray series), all 41 seasons of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (plus 12 other Guy Fieri series), and all 10 seasons of Ace of Cakes (including 10 other cake shows).

Not only that, but you’ll be able to wolf down every episode ever of Dinner Impossible Food Network Challenge, Iron Chef America, Mexican Made Easy, and eight other series. Hope you’re hungry (for Food Network shows)!

TLC

A huge reason that reality fans will want Discovery+ is that it has the 90-Day Fiancé franchise, with more than two dozen shows besides the original series—11 of which are on the TLC hub. You’ll also be able to enjoy 15 different variations on Say Yes to the Dress and every episode ever of LA Ink, Long Island Medium, My 600-lb. Life, Sister Wives, and 11 other TLC series.

Investigation Discovery

Investigation Discovery is for armchair detectives who thrive on gritty, hardboiled true-crime stories like Crime Scene Confidential and The 1980s: The Deadliest Decade. It’s where you can ride along with, or sit across a table from, real-life criminal justice professionals as they work on and recount their most mind-scrambling cases. Some of the content, like Killer Carnies, is kissed by the trash TV fairy because that stuff sells.

More Investigation Discovery shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • The 1980s: The Deadliest Decade
  • American Monster
  • Crime Scene Confidential
  • Dates from Hell
  • Fear Thy Neighbor
  • I (Almost) Got Away with It
  • In Pursuit with John Walsh
  • Killer Carnies
  • Murder in Paradise
  • Who the (BLEEP) Did I Marry?

Discovery Channel

Discovery Channel is one of the most worthwhile hubs on Discovery Plus because of horizon-broadening content like the super popular Deadliest Catch (17 seasons), Dirty Jobs (9 seasons), Man vs. Wild (7 seasons), Mythbusters (all 20 seasons plus three specials), and Naked and Afraid (14 seasons).

You’ll also find 16 installments of the mega-fan favorite Shark Week, along with odd series about Billy Bob–teeth moguls, taxicab game shows, and a Belushi bro growing weed.

More Discovery Channel shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • American Bush People
  • Billy Bob’s Gags to Riches
  • Brew Masters
  • Cash Cab
  • Deadliest Catch
  • Dirty Jobs
  • Growing Belushi
  • Man vs. Wild

OWN

The Oprah Winfrey Network’s content reflects everything that Oprah has tried to teach us to be with her daytime talk show: confident, fruitful, happy, and proud. On this hub, you’ll find shows about cooking (Food Fantasies), finance (America’s Money Class with Suze Orman—but only four of six episodes), home renovation, life renovation (8 seasons of Iyanla: Fix My Life), and real Americans (3 seasons of Our America with Lisa Ling).

You can also catch every episode ever of eight series including 2 Fat 2 Fly, The Book of John Gray, Flex & Shanice, and Raising Whitley.

  • America’s Money Class with Suze Orman
  • Food Fantasies

  • Our America with Lisa Ling
  • Profiled: The Black Man
  • Rev Run’s Renovation
  • Rollin’ with Zach

Travel Channel

On the Travel Channel hub, you can watch every episode ever of 37 different shows—not one of them about Travel. Instead, it’s shows about ghosts and cryptozoological creatures, like Ghost Adventures (25 seasons), Bigfoot is Real (one season), and Paranormal 911 (two seasons).

If you want shows about fantastic getaway destinations and interesting things to do when you get there—they’re filed under “From the Vault.” There, you’ll find Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (8 seasons), Hotel Impossible (7 seasons), Expedition Unknown (9 seasons) and more.

More Travel Channel shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • Bert the Conqueror
  • Booze Traveler
  • Could I Live There?
  • Extreme RVs

A&E

The A&E hub serves up addicts (5 of 21 seasons of Intervention), ghosts (13 seasons of Ghost Hunters Classic), hoarders (7 of 12 seasons of Hoarders), murder investigations (6 of 17 episodes of The First 48), and quacks (season 10 of Duck Dynasty).

You may have noticed that, except for Ghost Hunters Classic, there are a lot of missing seasons of these popular shows. We’ve seen a variety of explanations of this, the most credible being that A&E hoards seasons for its own streaming app. So if you’re a fan of these A&E shows, consider the missing content before subscribing.

More A&E shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • 60 Days In
  • Criss Angel: Trick’d Up
  • Duck Dynasty
  • Extreme Unboxing
  • The First 48
  • Intervention
  • The Killing Season
  • Nightwatch
  • Paranormal State

Animal Planet

Animal Planet fans will find the complete run of 16 popular shows including Too Cute (6 seasons), My Cat from Hell (11 seasons), Pit Bulls & Parolees (18 seasons), and River Monsters (9 seasons).

Unfortunately, fans of The Crocodile Hunter will be dismayed to learn that only seasons 5 and 6 of the show are available on Discovery+. We’re not sure why; it’s a true Animal Planet classic. A nearly equal travesty is the absence of Call of the Wildman. Why would you deprive us of the Turtleman and his “heh, heh—live action!” Animal Planet?

Finally, even Animal Planet has some out-of-place content like Monsters Inside Me (parasites are animals, too?).

More Animal Planet shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • The Crocodile Hunter
  • Dark Days in Monkey City
  • Fatal Attractions
  • Hillbilly Handfishin’
  • It’s Me or the Dog

Planet Earth

If you love the serious and thoughtful study of wildlife, weather, natural phenomena, wonders of the world, and even the universe, the Planet Earth hub is for you. And, true to its name, Planet Earth has its gorgeously shot namesake series, Planet Earth II, and The Blue Planet. You’ll also find several Simone Reeves travelogues, a whole section of shows about outer space, and even eight more David Attenborough documentaries.

More Planet Earth shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • Babies – Their Wonderful World
  • Cats Uncovered
  • The Blue Planet
  • Frozen Planet
  • Life
  • Mission Galapagos
  • Monkey Planet
  • Planet Earth (and Planet Earth II)
  • Tribes Animals and Me
  • Wild Patagonia

HISTORY

HISTORY, the channel for people who don’t care about history, also has some missing seasons of some shows. Most glaringly, you’ll find only Season 12 of Pawn Stars and Seasons 1–4 and Season 15 of American Pickers. But don’t worry, ‘cause all 8 seasons of Ancient Aliens are present and you can also catch MonsterQuest (but only seasons 1, 2, and 4) and The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch. If you want boring real history, try PBS.

More HISTORY shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • America’s Book of Secrets
  • American Pickers
  • Ancient Aliens
  • The Curse of Civil War Gold
  • The Curse of Oak Island
  • The Food That Built America
  • MonsterQuest
  • Pawn Stars
  • The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch
  • The Unexplained

Lifetime

Lifetime is a network for women with original programming, including Lifetime’s fan-favorite original movies (Betty & Coretta, The Simone Biles Story). But if you’re looking for Married at First Sight, prepare for disappointment: five of 13 seasons are missing. But you’ll have every episode of the five MAFS spin-off series. Aside from the above titles, the Lifetime library has oodles of true crime, cheesy romances, “real” ghosts, and Sea Change, yet another movie where humans fall in love with fish-people.

More Lifetime shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • Girl in the Bunker
  • Grumpy Cat’s First Christmas Ever
  • Married at First Sight franchise
  • Sea Change*
  • The Simone Biles Story
  • Stalked By My Doctor
  • Trapped: The Alex Cooper Story
  • The Trip to Bountiful
  • You Can’t Take My Daughter

* The fish-people movie.

Pro tip: If you’re looking for live current seasons of Lifetime shows, or how to stream more Lifetime content on demand, read our How to Watch Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Club articles.

Science Channel

On this hub, you get what you came for: educational scientific programming that’s both serious and fun (if not peer-reviewed). But while the Science Channel library is mostly legit, the hub has a “Myths, Mysteries, & Conspiracies” section with little to no content rooted in serious science, like UFO Conspiracies.

As for the good stuff, the Science Channel hub has the complete runs of How It’s Made (24 seasons), Oddities (5 seasons), What on Earth? (10 seasons), and 12 other series. Interestingly, though, Survivorman is listed among these—but only Seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, and 101 are on Discovery+. Huh.

More Science Channel shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • Beyond Hubble: The Telescope of Tomorrow
  • Engineering Catastrophes
  • Forbidden History
  • How It’s Made
  • How the Universe Works
  • This Came Out of Me
  • Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman
  • Unearthed
  • What on Earth?

Cooking Channel

People can’t get enough food, so why not have another food channel? The Cooking Channel focuses a bit more on food preparation, but it still has plenty of foodie shows that are all about finding the best of a particular dish or cuisine. Included on this hub are the complete runs (every episode) of 13 series, like Man v. Food (3 seasons), The Best Thing I Ever Ate (11 seasons), Rachael Ray’s Week in a Day (7 seasons), and Unwrapped (22 seasons).

More Cooking Channel shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations
  • The Best Thing I Ever Ate

  • Carnival Eats
  • Good Eats: Reloaded
  • Iron Chef America
  • Hotel Impossible
  • The Layover
  • Man v. Food
  • Rachael Ray’s Week in a Day

Destination America

At first, Destination America seems like a travel channel focused on great places to visit in the good old USA. While there are shows fitting this description, the channel also has shows about American culture, ghosts, food, demonic possession, real estate, monsters, and every episode of Moonshiners. It goes to show that America isn’t just a place—it’s a state of mind.

More Destination America shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • Alaska Monsters
  • BBQ Pitmasters
  • Insane Pools: Off the Deep End
  • Island Life
  • Moonshiners
  • Oddities
  • Swamp Loggers
  • Treehouse Masters
  • UFOs: The Lost Evidence
  • When Ghosts Attack

AHC (American Heroes Channel)

Do you adore jingoistic clichés? How about Nazis? Conspiracy theories? Secret societies? Things that go BOOM? Great! How about honorable veterans who gave lives and limbs serving our country? Double-great. ‘Cause you’ll find less of the latter and more of the former(s) on this channel, which seems oddly preoccupied with Hitler. And, while there might not be ghosts, there is Hitler’s Zombie Army.

More AHC shows on Discovery Plus (partial list)

  • America: Facts vs. Fiction
  • Gunslingers
  • Hitler’s Zombie Army
  • How the World Ends
  • Natural Born Outlaws
  • Ultimate Warfare
  • War Stories

Discovery Life

A lot of things happen in a lifetime—but ultra-morbid Discovery Life concerns itself with addiction, births, birth defects, body dysmorphia, mental illness, traumatic injuries requiring emergency-room visits, sex (which sometimes also lands one in the ER), and mysteries (yes, even in the ER). Look here to find Body Bizarre, Sex Sent Me to the ER, and Untold Stories of the ER.
