Where can I watch Star Wars in order?
Disney+ has nearly everything related to Star Wars, which means you won’t have to switch between different streaming services or physical copy formats. You’ll get everything from the Skywalker Saga to new spin-offs like The Acolyte, Skeleton Crew, and The Book of Boba Fett.
For those without Disney+, you can also watch most of the Star Wars movies through renting or buying on the following services:
- Amazon Prime
- YouTube
- Google Play
- iTunes
- Vudu
However, those services won’t have animated series like The Bad Batch, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars Resistance, which are exclusive to Disney+. Overall, Disney+ is the best way to watch all of Star Wars for a few reasons.
Disney+ makes it easy to find different Star Wars categories like (Disney+) Originals, movies, series and specials, animation, documentaries, and character-specific breakouts for Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader.
Plus, Disney+ has a “Star Wars in Timeline Order” section, but it’s not 100% comprehensive in this view. A few titles, like The Clone Wars movie, aren’t listed directly in the timeline view, even though they’re still available on the platform.
And For old-school fans, Disney+ even has vintage Star Wars specials like Ewoks: The Battle For Endor or Caravan of Courage. But sorry, folks, there’s no 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special.
Note: Disney+ has the latest official release versions of canonical Star Wars media. For theatrical release versions, you’ll have to hunt down physical copies.

Should I watch Star Wars in chronological order or release order?
There’s no single “correct” way to watch Star Wars, and fans have debated the best order for years. Some prefer release order to experience the saga the way audiences did originally. But even George Lucas recommended a chronological watch (though this was said before the sequel trilogy and subsequent media were released).
Viewing the Star Wars cinematic universe in order from the beginning provides a whole new perspective on the galaxy far, far away. Without spoiling anything, even old fans will gain a new appreciation for all the risks, rewards, and revelations that come with seeing scenes as they happened in Star Wars’ history.
