WE TV began in 1997 as the Romance Classics movie channel, a spin-off of AMC (then American Movie Classics). In 2001, the channel rebranded as WE TV and focused more on lifestyle programming for women—the “WE” stands for Women’s Entertainment.
The network has since become a favorite reality TV destination, launching shows like “Bridezillas,” “Love After Lockup,” “Mama June: From Hot to Not,” and several Braxton family series. Beyond reality, WE TV also runs blocks of crime dramas like “Criminal Minds,” “S.W.A.T., “Blue Bloods,” “NCIS,” and “9-1-1.”
