How to Watch All of the Spider-Man Movies, Including ‘Brand New Day’

Every Spider-Man movie franchise, and where you can watch them
With great power comes great responsibility… And with great numbers of movies comes a great headache. The Spider-Man character is technically owned by Sony, but occasionally farmed out to Disney, so the movies tend to jump around between streaming services rather than stay in one place like other Marvel movies.
But don’t sweat it! I’ve come up with a definitive list of every Spider-Man movie and where you can watch them. Our team will do our best to come back and keep this updated as things change, so it will always be valid as of the publish date you see above.
For this guide, I’ve tried to put each franchise in its own section, arranged loosely chronologically. So if you’re having a Spider-Man marathon, this is a pretty good watch order!
The only caveat is that the Sony villain movies are pretty optional — especially anything that isn’t Venom-related.
Got all that? Good! Let’s get started.
1. Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man
The definite favorite of most millennials, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies, starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, brought the web-slinging hero into the 21st century. They’re also iconic for Willem Dafoe’s performance as the Green Goblin, Kirsten Dunst’s performance as Mary Jane Watson, and that weird scene from the third movie where Peter Parker does an evil little dance.

2. Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man
Andrew Garfield was the second live-action actor to tackle the role of Peter Parker and his alter-ego, Spider-Man. You can differentiate his movies from Maguire’s because Garfield’s have the word “Amazing” in them. This has never been a confusing naming convention to anyone, ever.

Tom Holland is the current Spider-Man, and the first to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He starred in a trilogy of movies where Peter Parker was a highschooler, marked by the word “Home” in every title. Now he’s starring in a new story arc, beginning with “Brand New Day,” where Peter Parker is in college and grappling with the consequences of his actions in “No Way Home.”

4. The Spider-Verse
If you’re an animation fan like I am, you’re probably already familiar with the Spider-Verse. Or at the very least, the work of Lord and Miller, who also created iconic films like “The LEGO Movie” and “The Mitchells vs. the Machines.” But their best work is undoubtedly the Spider-Verse films, a breathtaking mix of different art styles that follows Miles Morales as he encounters other Spider-People across the multiverse.

5. Sony’s Spider-Man movies that don’t have Spider-Man in them
Since Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe has dibs on live-action Spider-Man for the time being, Sony has to work with the other Marvel characters it owns the rights to. Enter Sony’s own cinematic universe, with Eddie Brock and Venom at the center. The studio has tried to reproduce the Venom franchise’s success with other Spider-Man villains, like Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter, but all of them have flopped.

What’s the best streaming service for watching “Spider-Man” movies?

Disney+ is the best place for watching Spider-Man content, and most Marvel superhero films. While it will occasionally lose the rights to a Sony film, it also carries the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Netflix may not own the rights to any Spider-Man movies permanently, but it does often bring Spider-Man movies onto its service. It’s worth checking each month to see which titles are available.
