Love the ‘XO, Kitty’ Cast? Here’s Where You Can Stream Their Past Work

With its third season launching April 2 on Netflix, “XO, Kitty” has become a certified streaming success. It should come as no surprise: The high school drama has a hit-making pedigree. Created by author Jenny Han—who also penned “The Summer I Turned Pretty” series—”Kitty” is a spin-off of the “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” books-turned-Netflix-movies, which were a smash in their own right when they were first released, essentially launching the careers of Noah Centineo and Lana Condor.
But while “The Summer” and “To All The Boys” were set stateside, “XO, Kitty” is set at KISS, an international school in South Korea, where (we learn in season one) Lara Jean and Kitty Song Covey’s late mother matriculated in the late ’90s or early ’00s. Kitty goes to KISS to feel closer to the mom she lost and to her Korean roots, along the way accruing an international gang of buddies pulled from all over the globe.
While the “XO, Kitty” cast was mostly unknown to American viewers prior to the show’s launch, that doesn’t mean its stars haven’t appeared in numerous projects, both in the states and worldwide. Here’s where you can stream the K-Dramas, American coming-of-age stories, and YouTube shorts starring the whole KISS crew.
Anna Cathcart (Katherine “Kitty” Song-Covey)
Though Anna Cathcart, who plays Kitty, has been living in the Song-Covey universe for over 8 years now, joining the “To All The Boys” cast when she was just 14, she actually had a fairly robust career as a child actor prior to that gig. At 12, she was cast as Agent Olympia in season two of PBS Kids’ hit series “Odd Squad,” anchoring each episode of that run, popping up in the show’s third season, and starring in both “Odd Squad: The Movie” and 20 online episodes of “Odd Tube.”
All of Cathcart’s “Odd Squad” episodes, plus the movie, are available to stream on PBS Kids. They’re also available for rent or purchase on Prime Video and Fandango At Home, or Apple TV+.
Before becoming Kitty, Cathcart also played Dizzy Tremaine, daughter of one of Cinderella’s evil step-sisters, in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants 2.” That movie, as well as the animated sequel “Descendents: The Royal Wedding,” are available to stream on Disney+. That’s also where you’ll find “Spin,” another Disney Channel original movie starring Cathcart.
Gia Kim (Yuri Han)
Gia Kim was no stranger to stage and screen prior to landing “XO, Kitty”, having founded a theater company in Korea and worked as a reporter for Korea’s Arirang news channel. Still, “XO, Kitty” was Kim’s first commercial TV role and she hasn’t appeared in much else since landing the gig.
IMDb says Kim is playing an unknown role in a “Untitled K-Pop Project” currently in post-production and also starring people like Tony Revolori (“Spider-Man”), Eric Nam (“The Traitors”), and Ji-Young Yoo (“K-Pop Demon Hunters”), but with little other information about the project out there online as of yet, Kim’s fans will just have to to wait and see where they’ll be able to watch that one.
Sang Heon Lee (Min-ho Moon)
Though he plays Kitty and Yuri’s dorm neighbor and sometime love interest on “XO, Kitty,” Sang Heon Lee is actually Kim’s real-life younger brother. The two attended the Island School in Hong Kong as kids before going off to develop their acting skills in college.
“XO, Kitty” is Lee’s first big acting role, with his previous work mostly consisting of background gigs and reenactments in documentaries. Since landing “Kitty,” though, Lee has shown up in a few choice things, including 2023’s “Gran Turismo” movie, where he plays Joo-Hwan Lee. That film is available to stream on Hulu for free if you’re a subscriber, as well as on Fubo.
You can also see Lee as the romantic lead in the Filipino TV series “Secret Ingredient,” which is about a Korean man who gives up his fancy life in Seoul in order to seek out a memorable childhood friend. That’s a little harder to find online than Kitty, but you can stream episodes either on YouTube or on SFlix should you be interested.
Choi Min-yeong (Dae-heon “Dae” Kim)
Though “XO, Kitty” fans know Choi Min-yeong as the show’s well-meaning one-time love interest, Dae, he’s actually been acting in Korean movies and TV shows for years. At just 12, he played Young Kang Tae-Joon in the hit K-Drama “The Promise,” which interested parties can stream on the KBS World YouTube channel.
Several years later, Choi did a recurring role on high school coming of age series “Twenty-Five Twenty-One,” which was a huge smash in Korea and quickly became one of the highest-rated dramas in the county’s history. That show became so popular that in the US it’s actually available to stream on Netflix, a move that should let you know just how universal its appeal has become.
Two of Choi’s other Korean series—the coming-of-age thriller “Weak Hero” and romantic drama “Itaewon Class”—are also available on Netflix in the states.
Anthony Keyvan (Quincy “Q” Shabazian)
Anthony Keyvan, who plays best friend and stellar athlete Q on “XO, Kitty”, has been acting professionally since he was just eight years old. Though a good portion of his early work is in short or student films, he’s done one-off guest roles in more than a few TV shows as well.
Keyvan played “Young Sayid” in a 2009 episode of Lost, which is streaming on Hulu. He’s done episodes of “iCarly” (streaming on Paramount+), “Grey’s Anatomy” (Hulu), “In Plain Sight” (Netflix), “NCIS” (Paramount+) “Necessary Roughness” (Peacock), “Schooled” (Prime Video) and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (Peacock). He’s also had multi-episode arcs on shows like “The Rookie” (Disney+), “Fresh Off The Boat” (Disney+), “Major Crimes” (Philo), “Generation” (Tubi), and the short-lived “Once Upon A Time In Wonderland” (Disney+), where he played a Young Jafar from “Aladdin.”
And while his longest-running TV role has been as “XO, Kitty”‘s Q, Keyvan was also a series regular on both “Love, Victor” and “Alexa & Katie.” Both are series about high schools, with the latter being about a teen girl living with cancer while the former is a “Love, Simon” spin-off about a Latinx student coming out and coming to terms with his identity in Atlanta. “Alexa & Katie” is available to stream on Netflix, while “Love, Victor” is on Hulu.
Hojo Shin (Jiwon Ahn)
A South Korean-born actress who graduated from the University of Michigan’s prestigious School of Music Theater & Dance, Hojo Shin plays Jiwon Ahn on Netflix’s “XO, Kitty”. Prior to taking on that role, she appeared in a number of other TV series and movies, including “The Dead Girls Detective Agency,” a Snapchat Original streaming now on YouTube and on which Shin played “Kristen” for five episodes.
Shin also appeared as Mia in the TV pilot “Good People,” which was penned by Lee Daniels and Whitney Cummings but unfortunately not picked up by Prime Video. Shin also played Janine in the short “Lily Chan & the Doom Girls” (YouTube), and someone intriguingly named Dance Squad Julia in the movie “Boy Genius” (Prime Video).
Interestingly, Shin also voices the character of Echo in the video game “Overwatch,” which was released in 2016 on the PlayStation, Windows, and Xbox One platforms and in 2019 for the Nintendo Switch.
