What to look for with HBO Max deals

Before you subscribe to HBO Max, consider how many people will be watching at once. The base plans (Basic With Ads and Standard) allow for two simultaneous streams, while the Premium tier doubles that to four. If you have a large family, going for the Premium plan might be worth more than a deeper discount on a base plan.
Consider video quality and sound
This probably won’t be a big deal for the average TV watcher, but if you’ve invested in a 4K TV or a high-end sound system, you’ll want to splurge on HBO Max’s Premium tier, which is the only one that offers 4K Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos. Many introductory and bundled deals default to the Basic With Ads and/or Standard plans, which are limited to 1080p.
HBO Max live sports access
HBO Max includes a significant amount of live sports (like NBA, NHL, and MLB games) via the B/R Sports Hub. You’ll need a Standard or Premium plan to watch live sports on HBO Max, so verify your plan tier if you’re a fan.
