Fubo is Raising Prices By $15—Here’s How It Justifies the Increase

Good news and bad news for Fubo customers

I put the bad news in the headline, so let’s rip the bandage off. The live TV streaming service Fubo is getting more expensive to the tune of $15/mo. this month. Your total bill will vary depending on your plan, and whether you subscribe to regional sports networks, but either way you’re about to pay more money than you’d probably like.

The good news is that you’re getting more content for the price. Fubo is bringing NBC channels back to its lineup, including all the sports that NBC hosts. That means you’ll get Sunday Night Football, Sunday Night Baseball, WNBA games, and more, all bundled into your Fubo subscription.

Fubo had previously removed NBC channels from its lineup after disputes with NBCUniversal, but that dispute finally ended in June. Fubo is still missing Warner Bros. Discovery channels like AMC, BBC America, and the Food Network, as well as Versant channels like SYFY, USA Network, and MS NOW. Instead, Fubo mainly focuses on sports content and little else.

Fubo’s got a lot of plans, and sports add-ons tend to get pretty confusing under the best of circumstances, so let’s dive into the details and figure out what this means for you and your TV.

Which Fubo plans are changing?

Plan Old price New price
Fubo Sports (Sports + News) $55.99/mo. $64.99/mo.
Essential $73.99/mo. $88.99/mo.
Pro $73.99/mo. $88.99/mo.
Elite $83.99/mo. $98.99/mo.
Ultimate $98.99/mo. $113.99/mo.
Deluxe $103.99/mo. $118.99/mo.

All of Fubo’s regular plans (Essential, Pro, Elite, Ultimate, and Deluxe) are going up by $15 per month. Its Core and Ultra plans, only available in select markets, are also going up by $15 per month. If you subscribe to the Fubo Sports service, also known as Sports + News, your plan will be going up by $9 per month.

In addition, according to Fubo’s website, if you subscribe to a plan with a Regional Sports Fee and live in Boston, Philadelphia, or an area serviced by NBC Sports Bay Area or NBC Sports California, your fee will rise to $15.99/mo.

All of these changes will go into effect when NBCUniversal channels become available in your region. Fubo first announced these changes back in June, but some are only going into effect now in July, which is why it may be on your radar. Unfortunately, there is no one single price-changing day to report: it will vary from person to person, so you should plan to see the change on your next bill.

You can’t opt out of receiving NBCUniversal content on your existing plan, but you can downgrade your subscription if you’d like to keep your monthly bill low. You can also consider switching to another provider—we’ve got a lot of recommendations if you’re looking for a new live TV streaming service.

What does this mean for Latino subscribers?

There’s also good news and bad news for Latino subscribers. The good news is that Fubo Latino gained Telemundo and Universo back in June, so you’re already getting FIFA World Cup courage and lots of other Spanish-language sports. In fact, you got FIFA coverage before Fubo’s English-language customers.

The bad news is that your plan also got more expensive for your first billing date on or after July 1. From now on, you’ll be paying $19.99/mo., rather than the $14.99/mo. it cost previously.

What channels is Fubo gaining with the price increase?

Thanks to this new deal, Fubo is gaining a bunch of NBCUniversal sports coverage. Unfortunately, this deal doesn’t include Versant channels, so Fubo is still missing favorites like SYFY, USA Network, and MS NOW.

Your new lineup will change based on your plan and location, but here’s the full list of possible channels and networks:

  • NBC
  • Telemundo*
  • Bravo
  • Universo*
  • NBC Sports Regional Sports Channels
  • NBCSN
  • Cozi
  • NBC News NOW
  • True CRMZ

*also included with Fubo Latino

Of course, if it’s only NBC you’re after, you could always pick it up with an over-the-air (OTA) antenna. And if you’re looking for both live NBC coverage and Bravo content, Peacock Premium Plus has all you could want and more.

But if you want a sports-focused streaming service and don’t mind shelling out the extra money, it is nice that Fubo has all of this extra coverage now. NBC hosts a lot of exclusive sports programming, like Sunday Night Football, Sunday Night Baseball, English Premier League, WNBA games, and more.
