New ‘One Piece’ Season 2 Clip Is Everything Fans Want—Here’s How To Watch More

The Grand Line is on the horizon. But first, a detour.

IGN Fan Fest brought fans dozens of new game trailers, but also an exclusive look at “One Piece” Season 2. It’s been two and a half years since the first season of Netflix’s live-action adaptation, but it’s finally time to return to the East Blue as the Straw Hat Pirates finally enter The Grand Line. But first? A quick pit stop to go shopping.

In the new clip provided by IGN, Sanji and Nami convince the rest of the crew to stop in Loguetown for supplies before they continue on their quest to make Luffy King of the Pirates. Usopp isn’t on board, on account of all the death, but Zoro and Luffy love the idea.

Check out the full clip below.

What is Loguetown?

The Loguetown “Arc” is the last story set in the East Blue before the Straw Hat Pirates enter The Grand Line. Some people expected it to be part of the first season, and it seems like the creators wanted that too, but Netflix just didn’t give them enough episodes to make it happen.

“Of course, I wanted to come back to Loguetown and just couldn’t fit it in the eight episodes,” said co-showrunner Steven Maeda in a 2023 interview with Screen Rant. “I felt like we were rushing, and it was also a very expensive build.”

Fitting 100 chapters of a manga into one eight-episode season would have been a pretty daunting task. As it is, the first season of the Netflix show only stopped about five chapters short, while still covering all of the necessary beats to tell a cohesive story.

But for the past couple of years, fans have been debating (mostly on Reddit) whether Season 2 would cover Loguetown or not. After all, the new season is called “One Piece: Into the Grand Line,” not “One Piece: Let’s Stop in Loguetown.”

That’s why Nami has that cheeky line at the end of the new clip: “And you thought we were gonna skip Loguetown.” It’s totally fourth-wall-breaking fan service for the fans who doubted the show.

“One Piece” Season 2 premiere date

The second season of Netflix’s “One Piece” live-action show will premiere on Netflix on March 10, 2026, at 2 a.m. ET. Like most Netflix shows nowadays, the season will be pretty short, but released all at once, so it’ll be great for bingeing after work. At least, I know that’s how I’ll be spending the week.

How to watch “One Piece” Season 2 without Netflix

You don’t need a Netflix subscription to watch the first two episodes of “One Piece” Season 2. In fact, if you’re a super fan, you might want to take advantage of this event even if you do have a Netflix subscription.

While the full season is dropping on Netflix on Tuesday, March 10, the first two episodes are also coming to theaters for a special fan screening. It’s one night only—also March 10—at 6 p.m. local time. (Or 6:30 p.m. local time, as it is at my local IMAX theater).

The episodes will be accompanied by “a special message from Eiichiro Oda and Iñaki Godoy,” aka the “One Piece” creator and Luffy’s live-action actor.

Tickets went on sale February 26, so act now before they sell out! Netflix has set up a list of showtimes at opgrandline.com.
