Formula One schedule FAQ

What days are Formula One races on?

Most Formula One races happen on Sundays, with practice and qualifying on Fridays and Saturdays. Start times for all events vary based on the circuit location and your time zone.

How long does a Formula One race last?

Formula One races usually last around 90 minutes, but this can vary depending on the circuit and possible hazards. Races can’t exceed two hours unless the FIA race director suspends the race due to dangerous conditions. If that happens, the race director adds the length of the suspension to the two-hour limit.

How do I add the Formula One calendar to my phone?

To add the Formula One calendar to your phone, bookmark this page in your Android or iOS device’s web browser. You can also download the official Formula One app to your mobile device for quick access to Grand Prix schedules and race results.

Why was Formula One canceled in Imola?

Formula One called off the 2023 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola due to heavy flooding in northern Italy. All FIA events scheduled for mid-May at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit didn’t proceed. While organizers will look to reschedule the F1 and F2 races, cars will unlikely race at Imola during the 2023 season.
