New on Discovery Channel this week
Game Changers | Discovery Channel, Discovery+, Max | Documentary
Limited series, Tuesday, November 5: Video games changed the world, period. But some games (Pac-Man, Madden, Call of Duty, Minecraft) and game developers (Activision, Atari, Nintendo, EA Sports) had a more outsized impact than others. This eight-episode series chronicles the names mentioned plus more: SEGA, Sonic the Hedgehog, Blizzard, World of Warcraft, and even board games-turned-video games like Monopoly and Scrabble. New episodes air live on Discovery Channel every Tuesday, and stream the next day on Discovery+ and Max (the first two episodes are available now on both services). Watch Trailer
New on Hulu this week
Gangnam B-Side | Hulu | Crime drama
Limited series, Wednesday, November 6: In this South Korean crime drama, detective Kang Dong-won (Jo Woo-jin) finds himself ostracized from urban police departments because he led a police corruption probe. When his daughter’s friend goes missing, he’s yanked back into the seedy world he left, and his missing-person case leads him to investigate some of Seoul’s wealthiest citizens. No, Psy doesn’t perform a b-side to “Gangnam Style” as the theme song. Watch Trailer
New on Investigation Discovery this week
Feuds Turned Fatal | Investigation Discovery, Max | True crime
Series premiere, Wednesday, November 6: Not all feuds are blood feuds, but the ones covered in this Investigation Discovery true crime series are. In each episode, interviews with both sides tell the story of how the feuds evolved from bickering into tit-for-tat attacks and eventually escalated into deadly violence. Grab your remote and pick a side! (Or, you know, stay safe and neutral—no judgment.) Watch Trailer
New on Netflix this week
Outer Banks | Netflix | Drama, mystery
Season 4 concludes, Thursday, November 7: Speakin’ of feuds, where do you stand on Outer Banks’ Kooks (the affluent seasonal crowd) vs. Pogues (the working-class locals)? Pogues all the way, right? (Wait—don’t say anything, ‘cause we don’t need more melodrama.) The first five episodes of the long-awaited fourth season of Netflix’s North Carolina–based teen action-drama-mystery hit the streaming service on October 10. After a four-week break, the season’s final five episodes stream today. Watch Trailer

Citadel: Honey Bunny | Prime Video | Drama, thriller, romance
Series premiere, Thursday, November 7: Last month, Amazon MGM Studios’ spy thriller series Citadel spun off into the near future (2030) with Citadel: Diana. Now Citadel: Honey Bunny jets off to India for a prequel series. It follows actress Honey (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) and stuntman Bunny (Varun Dhawan), who moonlight as spies as they protect their daughter—a much younger version of the Citadel lead character Nadia, played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Promo materials say Citadel: Honey Bunny “fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story.” Watch Trailer
New on Shudder this week
Black Cab | Shudder | Supernatural thriller
Movie premiere, Friday, November 8: In this Shudder Original Film, a couple barely on speaking terms hops into a cab driven by a happy, chatty man (Nick Frost). Before long, the man and woman realize their driver isn’t who he seems, and they’re locked in the vehicle and headed somewhere other than their intended destination. Think of it as Cash Cab minus the game show, plus danger! Watch Trailer

Arcane | Netflix | Adult animation
Season 2 premiere, Saturday, November 9: Netflix’s popular, award-winning animated series based on the League of Legends video game returns with its second and final season. Act 1 episodes arrive today, while Acts 2 and 3 hit the streaming service on November 16 and 23, respectively. How will the rivalry between sisters Jinx and Vi and their cities, Piltover and Zaun, shake out? We’ll get no spoilers from series co-creator Christian Linke, who says only, “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind.” Watch Trailer
New on Paramount Network this week
Yellowstone | Paramount Network | Drama
Season 5 continues, Sunday, November 10: It’s been nearly two years since Yellowstone, the Paramount Network’s popular neo-Western drama series, aired an episode. The delay is due to the writer’s strike and the drama surrounding star Kevin Costner’s desire to focus on his upcoming Horizon film series. The latter conflict ultimately resulted in Costner leaving the show, so don’t expect to see his character, John Dutton, in these new episodes, which may be the last ones (although rumors of more seasons and spinoffs abound).
