How to Stream Music Festivals 2022

We’ve compiled a guide to 2022’s biggest music festivals available to stream.

Music festivals are back in full swing, and you can stream some of the most popular ones from wherever you are.

Starting this year, three prolific festivals—Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits—are exclusively available to stream live on Hulu. All you need is a basic Hulu subscription (starting at $6.99 a month), and you’ll get live access to all three concert series through 2023.

Keep scrolling for more details on each festival—including an expanded list of other key music events taking place this year.

How to watch Lollapalooza live

Lollapalooza returns to Hulu for a second year on Thursday, July 28, with a 2022 music lineup headlined by Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, and Green Day. Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, will host the four-day festival with over 170 bands playing across nine stages.

While Hulu hosted Lollapalooza in 2021, none of those live sets are available to watch on demand through the streaming service. But you can find most of last year’s performances on each artist’s YouTube page. (We frequently rewatch Tyler, The Creator’s 2021 Lolla set for its pure, contagious energy.)

How to watch Austin City Limits live

Hulu will also provide live streaming coverage of the Austin City Limits Music Festival during the first two weekends in October 2022. Produced by C3 Presents, the 2022 edition includes headliners like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lil Nas X, P!nk, and Kacy Musgraves.

Tickets for the first weekend of ACL Fest are sold out, making the live stream on Hulu all the more necessary. After all, you won’t want to miss week one performances by Lil Durk, James Blake, and MUNA.

How to watch Bonnaroo live

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival took place June 16–19, 2022, in Manchester, Tennessee. The four-day event featured electronic headliners like Flume and Disclosure, while also hosting alt-rock bands like Japanese Breakfast and Wallows.

The festival streamed live on Hulu across two separate channels. Unfortunately, since the festival’s conclusion, only select performances are available to watch on demand. If you search for Bonnaroo on Hulu, you’ll get performance highlights from Disclosure, Flume, LANY, 21 Savage, Illenium, and Tove Lo.

Other ways to watch live concerts

Live virtual concerts aren’t as popular as in 2020 and 2021. But there are still several ways to watch full music shows online.

YouTube is one of the most accessible websites to stream live music. Its YouTube Music streaming service populates a free Live Performances playlist, featuring anything from award show performances to studio sessions.

Streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, and Netflix also host several on-demand concert films and documentaries. But Paramount+ is the go-to destination if you want MTV and VH1 content like MTV Unplugged and Behind the Music.
