How To Watch Upcoming Awards Shows 2023

Never be caught out of the loop with our guide to all of entertainment’s biggest awards shows.

There’s really no such thing as an awards season. Awards shows air year-round, even if they’re not as flashy and high-profile as the Oscars or the Grammys. So if you don’t see your favorite show, film, or musician recognized at one of the bigger events, you might want to give this list a try.

Looking for animation? Head over to the Children’s and Family Emmys or the Annie Awards. More of a sports fanatic? The ESPYs are for you. And there’s an embarrassment of riches if you’re into country music.

If something’s listed as TBD, don’t sweat it—we’ll update as soon as we get more information about that event.

Protip: We’re constantly updating this page with new information, so bookmark this page (Cmd + D or Ctrl + D in most browsers) and check back often to make sure you never miss an awards show again.

2023 awards shows FAQ

What awards shows are coming up?

The next big 2023 awards shows are the Game Awards on December 7 and the Children’s and Family Emmys on December 16.

Where can I watch awards shows?

You can watch many awards shows on local channels: For example, the Oscars air on ABC in March, and the Grammys air on CBS in February. Some awards shows also post clips to their websites or YouTube channels.

For a full list of awards shows and the places you can watch them, check out our 2023 awards show schedule.

Will the 2023 Tony Awards be televised?

Yes, the 2023 Tony Awards will be televised despite the ongoing writers’ strike. However, it will not have an opening number or any original scripted content.

Why were the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards canceled?

The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards were canceled because of the involved production studios’ refusal to negotiate a contract with the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA). The WGA announced a strike on May 2, which means no new scripted content, including awards shows. Many actors pulled out of their involvement with the MTV Awards, including host Drew Barrymore. MTV decided to cancel its live event and air pre-taped clips instead, although several winners still used their time to show support for the writer’s strike.

We expect more live, scripted events will be canceled in the coming month(s) until the production studios agree to the WGA’s terms, including clear rules against AI writing and a minimum staffing requirement for writers’ rooms.

Where can I see the SAG Awards 2023?

The SAG Awards aired live on Netflix’s YouTube channel, and you can still catch the VOD there now that the show is over.

Will the Golden Globes be televised in 2023?

Yes! There was a televised Golden Globes ceremony on January 10, 2023. NBC refused to televise the ceremony in 2022 in support of a Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) boycott. The HFPA has since agreed to new reforms meant to increase diversity, so NBC aired the 2023 ceremony.

How can I watch the Oscars after it airs?

After the ceremony airs live on ABC, the Oscars usually goes to Hulu for on-demand viewing. However, the listing will go away after a short time.

Is Hulu streaming the Grammys?

Yes, you can stream the Grammys live on Hulu as long as you have a Hulu + Live TV subscription. You can also watch the ceremony anywhere you get CBS, whether through cable, a live streaming service, or an over-the-air (OTA) antenna. It will also be live on Paramount+.

How can I watch the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction?

You can find the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Max.

Where can I watch the People's Choice Awards 2022?

You can watch a VOD of the 2022 People’s Choice Awards on NBC’s website.

Is an Emmy the same as an Oscar?

No, an Emmy is not the same as an Oscar. The Emmys are awarded for achievement in television, while the Oscars are awarded for achievement in film.

What are the Golden Globes vs. Oscars?

Both the Golden Globes and the Oscars recognize achievement in film, but the Golden Globes also includes achievement in television. It’s helpful to think of it as a combination between the Emmys and the Oscars.
