The biggest night in cinema is just around the corner: the 95th Academy Awards will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 12, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting.
There are a whopping ten Best Picture nominees this year, including box office hits Avatar: Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick. But we’ll be keeping an eye out for Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, which lived up to its name by scoring eleven nominations across ten categories.
ABC is a local channel, so there are lots of ways to catch it with and without cable service. Keep reading to find which method is right for you.
Watch the Oscars on ABC
There are several ways to watch ABC:
ABC comes with virtually every cable or satellite package, even the “Basic” ones—although we can’t say we recommend basic cable. If you don’t want to spring for a more robust cable plan, try out an OTA antenna. It’s a small one-time purchase that will grant you access to local channels like ABC, CBS, and NBC.
Stream the Oscars without cable
If you don’t have an OTA antenna or a cable plan, don’t worry! Thanks to live TV streaming services, there are still plenty of ways for you to watch the Oscars.
And if you want to watch the Oscars for free, try a free trial with one of the following services (just make sure you remember to cancel before you get hit with an unexpected renewal fee).

How to watch the Oscars “Red Carpet Live”
There are a number of ways to catch all the fashion on the red carpet, including on ABC starting at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 12, with hosts Ashley Graham, Vanessa Hudgens, and Lily Singh.
If you’re more of a tabloid or fashion magazine stan, People, Entertainment Weekly, and Vogue (among others) will also be livestreaming the red carpet for free on their social media channels. If you’re there for the fashion, not the films, we suggest skipping ABC and going straight to your fave publication for all the juicy analysis.
