- DIRECTV—NFL SUNDAY TICKET
- Xfinity—DVR cloud library
What are the best internet providers in Miami?
- AT&T—Included Wi-Fi gateway
- Xfinity—Wi-Fi hotspot for guests
DISH’s Hopper 3 DVR is the best out there. You can record all your favorite shows—up to 500 HD hours—and watch them at your leisure. It’s got enough space for all 30 seasons of The Simpsons.
But DIRECTV comes with a discount when you bundle it with AT&T’s internet. Or you could just go full AT&T—its TV service AT&T U-verse has the most channels anywhere. With either of these TV plans, you’ll get an included DVR. It can’t keep up with the Hopper 3, but it’s good enough for $0 more.
By comparison, Xfinity’s services don’t offer anything standout. Its packages are average and don’t come with freebies. But it’s nice to have options anyway.
Cable TV and internet bundles in Miami
AT&T and Xfinity are both available in most of Miami, and they compete for your affection with shiny discounts. When you get cable TV and internet bundled together with either provider, you can save about $20 per month on your combined services.

While most of Miami’s popular channels are easy to find, Miami has only one TV provider with Pac-12 Network: DISH.
The best place to find most of the channels listed above is DISH’s biggest package, America’s Top 250. All it’s missing is the local channel Mega TV, which you can pick up with an over-the-air (OTA) antenna.
TV packages featuring Miami’s most popular channels
Package | Price | Channel count | Contract | Bundles |
---|---|---|---|---|
DISH America’s Top 250 | 94.99/mo.* | 290+ | 24 mos. with 2-yr. agreement and eAutoPay. | N/A |
Data as of 10/03/19. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.
*for 24. months. New customers only. All offers require 2-year commitment with early termination fee and eAutopay. Price includes Hopper Duo for qualifying customers.
America’s Top 250 doesn’t come cheap, but DISH tacks on a few perks. Your plan’s price won’t change for two years, and you get free premium channels for three months (just remember to cancel before time is up or you’ll get dinged with ongoing expenses).
The plan also “includes” a smart HD DVR—but you have to pay a monthly fee to actually use it. Yeah, who knows how DISH is getting away with that advertising? Whatever the case, the Hopper Duo (125 HD hours) is $5 per month, the Hopper 3 (500 HD hours) is $10, and extra TV receivers are each $5 per month.
Miami sports coverage
With four professional sports teams and one on the way (we’re excited for your 2020 debut, Inter Miami CF!), there are plenty of Miami sports to watch. You can keep up with all of them if you have CBS, Fox Sports Florida, and Fox Sports Sun.

CBS (WFOR-TV) | ||
Fox Sports Florida | ||
Fox Sports Sun |
*For 24 months with a 2-year agreement and eAutoPay.
†For the first 12 months with a 1-year agreement.
If you’re a Miami Dolphins fan, you’re in luck—every basic TV package will include CBS. But other fans will have to jump through some hoops to find Fox Sports Florida and Fox Sports Sun.
Xfinity’s Extra and AT&T U-verse’s U200 plans both have all the channels you’ll need to keep up with Miami’s best teams. While AT&T’s plan is a little more expensive, it also comes with a 165-hour DVR so you can record any games you miss.
Okay, sure, Xfinity comes with a 20-hour cloud DVR. But that’s only enough space for six games, and we bet you’ll want to record a few more things than that. The upgrade to 60 hours costs $10/mo.

But more and more people are turning to streaming live TV to watch all their favorite shows right when they air.
