Stephen King is the undisputed “king of horror.” So if you want to watch every Stephen King movie and series, you’ve got your work cut out for you. You see, the beloved author is also the king of adaptations. His books and short stories are the source material for around 90 movies (theatrical, made-for-TV, and straight-to-video), TV series, and miniseries. Four of those films (The Monkey, The Life of Chuck, The Long Walk, and The Running Man) and two series (MGM+’s The Institute and the HBO Max series IT: Welcome to Derry) came—or are coming—in 2025. And nearly two dozen more movies and series are queued up for production between now and, well, whenever they appear (nothing is certain in showbiz).
As a King fan, I know what it’s like to wanna read and watch everything the man puts out. As a human being with a job and obligations, I know how difficult it is to keep up with such a lengthy media syllabus—and how it’s sometimes easier to watch the movie or show instead. That’s why I’ve compiled this guide to watching every Stephen King movie and show. It covers everything from 1976’s Carrie through imminent 2025 releases like The Running Man remake and the IT: Welcome to Derry. I hope it helps my fellow “constant readers,” as King likes to call us.
