You Can Watch About 475 NBA G League Games for Free This Season — Here’s How

Free G League games coming to NBA app and website
The NBA just made it easier to watch the G League.
Starting in the 2026–2027 season, the NBA app and NBA.com will stream G League games that aren’t broadcast on national networks. Fans can watch about 475 games for free, without needing NBA League Pass or an NBA ID login.
These specific NBA G League games will still be available locally, per the league.

Where to watch other NBA G League games
For games that aren’t available for free on the league’s app or website, fans can tune in through a variety of national broadcast partners. The list includes Amazon Prime Video, ESPN, NBA TV, Roku, and Samsung TV Plus.
ESPN recently announced that more than 150 NBA G League games will air on ESPN+, ESPNU, and ESPNews.
CableTV.com verdict: Free G League games should be the default viewing situation
The NBA is wildly popular, with games available across a wide mix of local and national TV networks and streaming services. But its developmental arm, the G League, is, unsurprisingly, less well known.
The news that the NBA is making so many G League games free via its website and app feels appropriate. In fact, the league could — and should — just make its entire slate of G League games free to watch.
The NBA makes enough money with its 30 teams. The current media deal alone is reportedly worth $76 billion over 11 years. And that’s not to mention other types of revenue like ticket sales, concessions, merchandise, and more.
So let’s just rip the band-aid off and make every G League game free. If it all lives on the NBA app and website, fine. It doesn’t need to be more complicated than that. It would be a way to truly grow the game of basketball even further and attract new fans.
