Summer is over, and that means it’s time for Fall TV. The crown jewel for comedy fans is “Saturday Night Live,” the historic sketch comedy show entering its 52nd season. Each season, we see old cast members leave and new ones join (according to Lorne Michaels’s whims).
So what can you expect from the upcoming season, starting next week on NBC? Read on for a full overview of everything we know right now.

How to watch “Saturday Night Live”
“Saturday Night Live” is returning on Saturday, September 26, 2026. You’ll be able to watch live when it airs at 11:30 p.m. ET if you have access to live NBC.
There are a few ways to get NBC at home. It’s a local channel, so you can get it with any cable, satellite, or live TV streaming service. If you don’t have any of those, you can still watch NBC for free if you have an over-the-air (OTA) antenna.
If traditional on-demand streaming services are more your thing, Peacock is your best option. Peacock has three tiers: Select, Premium, and Premium Plus. Peacock Select and Peacock Premium will both let you watch “SNL” on demand. You’ll have access to all 51 previous seasons, plus new episodes the morning after they air.
If you want to watch “SNL” live through Peacock, you’ll want Peacock Premium Plus. It’s pricier than just getting an OTA antenna, but you’ll be able to watch NBC live through the app whenever you want.
Meet the new cast members
Last season, the “SNL” cast lost Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang. That means that there are two open positions on the “SNL” roster, and this week we found out who would fill them.
Grace Reiter
Grace Reiter is joining the “SNL” cast for Season 52 after years of showing up in your TikTok feed. Reiter used to be part of “American High,” a sketch comedy troupe themed around high school and college. She’s also been a part of other YouTube comedy productions, like “The Hunger Games (but better)” and “Every Episode of Sex and the City.”
“SNL” isn’t Reiter’s first jump from YouTube to TV, though — you can also catch her in recent comedies “The Chair Comedy” on HBO Max and “Minimum Wage” on Netflix.
Saidah Belo-Osagie
The other “SNL” recruit, Saidah Belo-Osagie, is also pretty active online. She regularly posts short-form videos to her Instagram, @applesaidur, pulling from her experiences living in New York City. But she’s no stranger to television either, having begun her career working behind the scenes at Netflix and ABC.
As the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Belo-Osagie’s work often uplifts other African diaspora artists, and she founded the quarterly Afrobeats Futura event in celebration of emerging Afrobeats music.
Her most recent work is “Saidah Gets Closure,” a live clown show about the wreckage of a failed relationship. That’s right, Belo-Osagie has clowning experience — a skill that I desperately hope she brings to “SNL.” Clowns are so “in” right now, you guys!

“SNL” usually announces its hosts and musical guests a few weeks at a time, so we don’t know this year’s full lineup. However, the first four episodes have been announced ahead of time, taking us through the end of October. (“SNL” airs on Halloween this year! Fun!)
Season 52’s premiere episode will feature Jalen Brunson as host. Brunson is the point guard for the New York Knicks, but has a little more scripted TV experience than your average basketball player. In November, Brunson will guest star on “Law & Order: SVU,” also on NBC.
The season’s first musical guest is Katseye, a girl group who found fame after a Netflix docuseries. You might know them from the hit songs “Gnarly,” “Hootie Frutti,” or “Animal.” They also performed “Flame,” the theme song for Netflix’s supernatural animated show “Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld.”
