The ‘Street Fighter’ trailer does what ‘Masters of the Universe’ doesn’t

It’s been four months since the Game Awards delivered unto us the “Street Fighter” movie sneak peak, set to “PUNK TACTICS” by Joey Valence & Brae. The teaser featured a lot of game-accurate character designs and generated a lot of hype, but we didn’t have a full idea of the plot. Until now.

Thanks to Paramount Pictures’ presentation at CinemaCon earlier today, we finally have a look at the film’s full trailer. This time, it’s set to “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes, a song that should really have gone to the underwhelming “Masters of the Universe” trailer. (That is, if you’re at all familiar with classic memes).

I guess Noah Centineo isn’t the only thing that “Street Fighter” stole from the He-Man franchise.

You can watch the “Street Fighter” movie trailer below.

‘Street Fighter’ plot and release date

The “Street Fighter” movie takes place in 1993, six years after the first “Street Fighter” arcade game came out in real life. Fan favorite characters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken (Noah Centineo) must return to the fighting world when Chun-Li (Callina Liang) asks them to join the World Warrior Tournament.

Of course, there’s also a “deadly conspiracy” at the center of the tournament, one the two estranged fighters must face head-on.

‘Street Fighter’ is coming to theaters on October 16, 2026.
