There’s a New ‘Saturday Night Live’ Spinoff—Here’s How to Watch It

From the U.S. to the U.K., and back again

Americans have “stolen” a lot of comedies from the U.K., like “The Office” and “Ghosts.” But this year, it’s time for the U.K. to steal something for itself. (That is, apart from everything in the British Museum.) After 51 years of live sketch comedy, “Saturday Night Live” is finally getting a ripoff—I mean, spinoff.

“Saturday Night Live UK” is exactly what it says on the tin. You can expect live-taped, weekly sketch comedy with a cast of talented British comedians. Sounds like a good time? Keep reading to learn more about how you can watch “SNL UK” all the way here in the States. You don’t even need a VPN.

How to watch ‘SNL UK’ in the U.S.

Much like the original “Saturday Night Live,” “Saturday Night Live UK” will air on Peacock. It’ll air live in the U.K., but we’ll get it the next day. This schedule will be familiar to you if you already watch “SNL” on Sunday mornings. So while the first episode hits the British network Sky One on March 21, Americans will be able to watch it on Peacock on March 22.

Peacock has a pretty confusing plan structure, but the plan I’d recommend for “SNL” fans is the $10.99/mo. Premium plan with ads. “SNL” already airs with ads on network TV, so you’ll probably be used to the interruptions. If you’d rather shell out extra money to skip the ads, though, you should upgrade to the $16.99/mo. Premium Plus plan.

There’s also a $7.99/mo. Select plan for thrifty customers, but it excludes a lot of the best Peacock content. As of writing, it’s unclear whether the Select plan will include “Saturday Night Live UK.”

‘SNL UK’ host schedule

“SNL UK” will pay tribute to the American original by welcoming “SNL” veteran Tina Fey as its first host this March. Like “SNL,” “SNL UK” will probably only announce a few hosts at a time. Here are all the hosts we know about so far:

  • March 21: Tina Fey
  • March 28: Jamie Dornan
  • April 4: Riz Ahmed
