NFL conference championship predictions
Last weekend’s NFL Divisional Round delivered plenty of drama. The New England Patriots continued their stunning turnaround season by fending off the Texans, while the Denver Broncos survived a gritty battle with Buffalo. Over in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks held strong at home against the 49ers, and the Los Angeles Rams proved they’re the ultimate road warriors by knocking out the Bears in chilly Chicago.
Still, many questions remain. Can the Broncos survive without Bo Nix? Will the Rams avenge their Week 16 loss to Seattle? Here’s my quick preview of this week’s two conference championship games.
AFC: #2 New England Patriots at #1 Denver Broncos
The New England Patriots are the story of the year, transforming from a rebuilding squad to a Super Bowl contender under Mike Vrabel. Their defense has been suffocating, but they face a Denver Broncos team that secured the AFC’s No. 1 seed with a 14–3 record. However, the narrative flipped last weekend when Denver lost quarterback Bo Nix to a fractured right ankle. The Broncos must now rely on their depth and home-field advantage to halt the Patriots’ momentum.
Score prediction: Patriots 20, Broncos 17
NFC: #5 Los Angeles Rams at #1 Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are playing their best football of the year, led by a revitalized offense that secured them the top seed in the NFC. But they face a Los Angeles Rams team that has already won two playoff road games. These teams know each other well. Seattle edged out Los Angeles in Week 16 to win the division, costing the Rams a home playoff game. Now, the Rams head back to Lumen Field seeking revenge—and a ticket to Super Bowl LX.
Score prediction: Seahawks 27, Rams 24
