How To Watch Track & Field at the 2024 Summer Olympics

The 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, will host professional runners at the Stade de France, race walkers around the Trocadéro, and marathoners get the view of Les Invalides. And our Team USA will compete in 48 athletic events from August 1 to 10.

You can watch all 2024 Olympic track and field events live on Peacock, NBC, USA Network, and E! with reruns on NBC. Or stream all of them on Peacock whenever you’d like.

Team USA’s track and field athletes have been chosen (or qualified)

After the track and field Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, on June 21–30, we know who makes up our Team USA track and field team. Three athletes for each event will represent our country.

We’ll update this page daily with the TV schedule, so bookmark it to find out when Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson will be on the track. And if they, or another favorite Olympian of yours, happens to race while you’re asleep, you can stream it on Peacock in the morning while you’re drinking your coffee.

According to the men’s events in the table below, Noah Lyles will take the track on August 3 for the 100m preliminary round, August 5 for the 200m round 1, and August 9 for the 4 x 100m relay round 1 (and hopefully move forward to the finals). He may also run the 4x400m relay on August 10.

We also get to watch 16-year-old Quincy Wilson in the 4×400 men’s and mixed relay races.

Olympic track men’s results for the 2024 Paris Olympics:

• Noah Lyles won the gold medal, making it the first time an American has secured first place in the 100-meter sprint since the 2004 Olympics.
• Fred Kerley won his third medal in the Olympic 100-meter race with a bronze in 2024.
• Grant Fisher won bronze in the 10,000-meter event.
• Quincy Hall is now a gold medalist in the 400-meter dash.
• Kenneth Rooks is taking home silver from his performance in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
• Grant Holloway takes the gold, and Daniel Roberts takes the silver medal in the 110-meter hurdles.
• Kenny Bednarek wins gold, and Noah Lyles wins silver in the 200-meter event.
• Rai Benjamin brings gold home with an impressive performance in the 400-meter dash.
• Rai Benjamin, Christopher Bailey, Bryce Deadmon, and Vernon Norwood set a new Olympic record to win gold medals in the 4 x 400-meter relay.

The women’s races could likely start with Sha’Carri Richardson winning

The women’s races kick off with the quick and intense 100-meter sprint, the specialty of one of our best runners, Sha’Carri Richardson.

Not only will I be watching Sha’Carri run the 100m and 4 x 100m relay, but Gabby Thomas will be racing in the 200m dash as she got the fastest time in the world this year. During trials, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone also broke the 400m hurdles record for the fifth time in her career, so make sure to support and watch these ladies win gold.

I’m also excited to watch the steeplechase race. What is that, you might ask? That’s what I wondered, and boy, did I learn something new. The distance and hurdle races are straightforward, but tune in on August 4 and 6 to watch hurdlers clear seven jumps and land in a water pit throughout 3000m.

• Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, Gabby Thomas, and Sha’Carri Richardson conquered in the 4 x 100-meter relay and won themselves and the USA gold.
• Gabby Thomas, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Shamier Little, and Alexis Holmes won Team USA another gold in the 4 x 400-meter relay.

The Men’s decathlon takes place on August 2 and 3

The men’s decathlon is an all-around athletics test that consists of 10 track and field events where athletes compete to achieve the highest combined score.

The decathlon starts with the 100m run on Friday, August 2, early in the morning. But that’s OK because you can catch all of the events on Peacock. This streaming service will be a lifesaver because of the time difference between Paris and the U.S.

Women’s heptathlon

The all-around athletics test for women is called a heptathlon for the seven track and field events each woman will participate in. The women’s heptathlon will begin with 100m hurdlers meeting at the starting line.

And USA is lucky to send the world’s No. 1 ranked heptathlete, Anna Hall. After regrouping since her botched Olympic trials in 2021, this 23-year-old persevered and has her eyes set on gold at the 2024 Olympics.

Eight days of throwing

Long and high jump will jumpstart on August 2

The long and high jump schedules are a bit sporadic, but remember to watch qualifiers for each event to find out which three athletes will advance to compete for gold.

Mixed relay race walking will make its Olympic debut in Paris

Don’t knock off race walking until you’ve watched a couple of minutes. Keep an eye out for Brandon Segura Zepeda, representing the USA in the 20km race, Ilse Guerrero in the women’s race, and Nick Christie and Miranda Melville in the mixed relay.
