New on TV this week

This week’s “What To Watch” picks include second seasons of a bunch of last year’s hit series, including mystery thriller “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” crime comedy “Deli Boys,” and romantic comedy “The Four Seasons.”
You can also expect the premieres of two spinoffs: “Spider-Noir,” based on the “Spider-Verse” movies, and “Star City,” based on Apple TV’s hit sci-fi drama “For All Mankind.
And if you’re looking for a good movie night, “Over Your Dead Body” is streaming this week on video-on-demand (VOD). Let’s hit the couch!
New on MGM+ and Prime Video this week
“Spider-Noir” | MGM+, Prime Video| Drama
Series premiere, Monday, May 25: “Spider-Noir” is something unique—a black-and-white spinoff of a full-color animated movie. Nic Cage’s Spider-Noir was a bit of comic relief in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” but in this new show he takes center spotlight as a 1930s private investigator. Yes, you can watch the show in color if you want, but isn’t it more fun the noir way? Episodes will air every Monday on MGM+, but you can also watch the whole show at once on Prime Video starting May 27.
New on Netflix this week
“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” | Netflix | Mystery, thriller
Season 2 premiere, Wednesday, May 27: The first season of “AGGGTM” may have come to the U.S. a month later than the U.K., but we’re getting the second season simultaneously. Having solved the original murder in the first season, the British murder mystery is returning with a disappearance plot based on the book “Good Girl, Bad Blood.” The main character, Pip, is a true crime podcaster, so it’s a bit like if “Only Murders in the Building” was really dark and not a comedy.
New on Hulu this week
“Deli Boys” | Hulu | Comedy
Season 2 premiere, Thursday, May 28: Mir and Raj never asked where their family’s money came from—until their father died, and the FBI raided their family business. The brothers try to take over their father’s last remaining deli location, only to find themselves at the center of a drug empire full of murder and blackmail. Okay, that sounds like a lot, but it’s actually a really fun romp full of memorable characters and celebrity cameos.
New on Netflix this week
“The Four Seasons” | Netflix | Comedy, romance
Season 2 premiere, Thursday, May 28: Last May, I covered the series premiere of a show about a group of friends embarking on four seasonal vacations. And now I’m back a year later to tell you that “The Four Seasons” is back with a new season and a bit of a cast shake-up. Steve Carell is gone, and the group has to pick up the pieces without his character. More hijinks ensue, I assume.

New on Apple TV this week
“Star City” | Apple TV | Drama, science fiction
Series premiere, Friday, May 29: In Apple TV’s “For All Mankind,” American history is changed forever when the Soviet Union beats the U.S. in the race to put a man on the moon. The original show explores what happens in the decades after, but the new prequel “Star City” explores that inciting incident from the Soviets’ point of view, highlighting the fictional space crew that would have changed everything.

New on Dropout this week
“Game Changer” | Dropout | Game show, comedy
Season 8 premiere, now streaming: I’d like to break with tradition for a minute to highlight one of the best things I watched last week: the new season premiere of “Game Changer.” If you’re unfamiliar, Sam Reich’s wacky game show changes its premise each episode, forcing its comedian contestants to adapt to increasingly bizarre circumstances. Last week’s episode really pushed the boundaries on what you’re allowed to say on TV when you don’t have to worry about advertiser approval.
New movie releases available to rent/buy on VOD this week
“Over Your Dead Body” (2026) | Action, comedy, thriller
Samara Weaving (“Ready or Not”) and Jason Segel (“The Muppets”) play a dysfunctional married couple who try to reconnect during a trip to their family’s cabin. And by “reconnect,” I mean “try to kill each other in increasingly elaborate ways.” They really are made for each other.
You can rent “Over Your Dead Body” from video-on-demand (VOD) outlets like Apple TV, Fandango at Home (formerly VUDU), Google Movies & TV, and Prime Video as of Tuesday, May 26.
