What will the Valkyries look like in Year 2?

It’s hard to be an expansion team in a professional sport. But the Golden State Valkyries did better than you’d expect last year, when they reached the playoffs in their first WNBA season. It’ll probably be even more electrifying to watch the Valkyries in 2026.

Built through an expansion draft and free agency, the Valkyries—led by coach Natalie Nakase—have a talented roster that features Kiah Stokes (three-time champion), Veronica Burton (reigning Most Improved Player), and two-way talent Gabby Williams. A second straight playoff spot could definitely be in the cards.

I created this guide for fans who can’t wait to watch the Valkyries continue defying expectations. Here you’ll find what channels the Valkyries play on, what TV plans will get you the most games, and how to watch the team for free.

Where to watch the Valkyries—local TV breakdown

For the second straight season, Golden State Valkyries games will be broadcast locally by CBS Bay Area (KPIX-TV 5) and CBS Sacramento (KOVR 13). Fans in those areas of Northern California will get a total of 26 games across those channels during the 2026 regular season.

If you live outside that region, you can still watch the Valkyries using WNBA League Pass. The out-of-market streaming service carries every matchup not airing nationally or in your local market.

Best TV plans for watching the Golden State Valkyries

You can’t get around needing more than one TV service to watch any WNBA team, including the Valkyries. But after much research, I landed on the ones I think you can’t live without.

The table below has more information, but just as a quick TL;DR: YouTube TV is essential if you want to watch the Valkyries.

Best Overall

The service includes CBS Bay Area, CBS Sacramento, and every national network, except the streamers. While DIRECTV offers a similar lineup, YouTube TV wins out for Valkyries fans because it includes NBCSN—saving you from needing a separate Peacock Premium subscription.

The Valkyries will have at least five games streaming on Prime Video throughout the 2026 season. If the team plays in the Commissioner’s Cup Championship, fans can watch that game exclusively on Prime Video.
