New anime to watch in summer 2024
Let’s take a peek at some of our most-anticipated summer anime.
Suicide Squad ISEKAI
America’s been crazy about Harley Quinn for years now, but it’s Japan’s turn to get in on the action. In this anime from the studio behind Spy x Family, the Suicide Squad gets transported to another world (an isekai) full of monsters and magic.
Suicide Squad ISEKAI airs Thursdays on Hulu.
Delico’s Nursery
Do you love the art style of Castlevania games but feel like they focus too much on action and monsters? Do you wish Alucard would just settle down and raise a bunch of toddlers, for some reason? Boy, do I have a recommendation for you.
Delico’s Nursery is about an aristocratic vampire conspiracy that goes a little off the rails. It’s a spinoff of a Japanese stageplay and manga about teen vampires, but isn’t directly based off of an existing story, so we have no idea what to expect. Since so much anime is adapting existing work, that’s kind of exciting!
Delico’s Nursery airs Wednesdays on Crunchyroll.
No Longer Allowed in Another World
Isekai is a fun genre, but it’s been done to death. Do you know what it needs more of? Tragic historical figures.
And if there’s one thing Japanese media loves, it’s turning late author Osamu Dazai into an anime boy (see Bungo Stray Dogs). In No Longer Allowed in Another World, he’s transported to a magical fantasy world before he’s able to commit suicide. Despite his gloomy personality and IRL fate, we promise this is a lighthearted comedy.

Dungeon People
If the Delicious in Dungeon hiatus is leaving a monster-shaped hole in your heart, Dungeon People might be the anime you’re looking for.
An exceptional adventurer named Clay sets out on a quest to find her missing father, but finds herself in a workplace comedy instead. Early in her quest, she gets noticed by Belle, who manages an entire dungeon. The pair work together to take care of the dungeon, resetting traps and organizing monsters.
Dungeon People airs Fridays on HIDIVE.
