New anime to watch in spring 2024
Let’s take a peek at some of our most-anticipated spring anime:
Mission: Yozakura Family
Missing new episodes of SPY x FAMILY? SPY x FAMILY CODE: White finally comes to American theaters on April 19, but you don’t have to wait to get your spy family fix.
Well, spy family, lowercase. Mission: Yozakura Family is about a recently orphaned teenager who marries into a family of spies to save his life. These aren’t ordinary spies, either; they’ve got special abilities that enhance their abilities to use weapons and martial arts.
Mission: Yozakura Family premieres April 7 on Hulu.
WIND BREAKER
Continuing the time-honored trend of “high schoolers doing things they really shouldn’t” is WIND BREAKER. You might be picturing something bright and colorful, like the popular jacket of the 80s and 90s, but WIND BREAKER the anime is about a certified Tough Guy™ who wants to fight his way through the elite ranks of delinquents at his new school.
But there might be more to these delinquents than meets the eye—they’re actually self-proclaimed vigilante heroes, much to the protagonist’s dismay.
WIND BREAKER airs Thursdays on Crunchyroll.
Kaiju No. 8
Now that Attack on Titan’s over, there’s room for a new global sensation monster-fighting show. That show just might be Kaiju No. 8, a highly anticipated anime about Kafka Hibino, a man who undergoes a “metamorphosis” (lol) into a giant monster-fighting monster.
Kaiju No. 8 airs Saturdays on Crunchyroll.
Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf
Furries rejoice! The 2008 anime Spice and Wolf is getting a reboot in 2024. Like the original, Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is about a merchant who travels the countryside to return a forgotten harvest goddess to her homeland. It’s unclear how this reboot will differ from the original anime (or the light novels that inspired both series), but we’re excited to find out.
Spice and Wolf airs Mondays on Crunchyroll.

There are no new simulcasts on Funimation in spring 2024. In fact, as of April 2, Funimation no longer exists—it’s been officially absorbed by Crunchyroll.

Netflix doesn’t have a lot to offer this season, but Blood of Zeus fans can expect a new season this May.
