HBO’s “The White Lotus” is a brilliant satire of luxury tourism told through the perspective of wealthy travelers and the locals who serve them. Featuring a star-studded cast that includes Walton Goggins, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael Imperioli, Aubrey Plaza, and more, Mike White’s Emmy-winning anthology drama draws on small details (subtle smirks, eye-catching beach bods) to assemble slow-build plotlines that explore the limits of family dysfunction and economic stratification.
Amid all of the social commentary, the series also treats viewers to a nonstop pleasure cruise of exotic b-roll footage, sumptuous sex scenes, and cringe comedy — not to mention the mandatory minimum of one death per season, teased in each season’s debut episode.
As HBO gears up to release Season 4 in 2027, here are the absolute spiciest episodes of “The White Lotus,” a show in which spice is simply a part of life. Watch out for spoilers ahead.

“Arrivals” (Season 1, Episode 1)
“The White Lotus” sets the table for the haves and have nots right off the bat, introducing an elite group of guests who arrive on a boat to the series’ titular hotel resort in Maui. But there are class divides even among these moneyed patrons, as becomes clear in a witheringly mean conversation that goes down poolside.
Rachel (Alexandra Daddario), an idealistic journalist-turned-listicle writer who’s on a honeymoon with her spoiled husband, introduces herself to Olivia and Paula, two judgy college girls played by Sydney Sweeney and Brittany O’Grady. Sweeney does her best mean-girls thing, using little more than a few probing questions, awkward silences, and snickering giggles to belittle Rachel as a mere trophy wife. But then she’s left stunned when the bikini-clad Rachel shows off her body while taking a dip in the pool.
“Recentering” (Season 1, Episode 4)
Hotel manager Armond has been lusting after one of his employees, a young surfer dude named Dillon, and they finally get it on after Armond’s incredibly forward confession: “Listen, I’m obsessed with you. I want to get you naked. What do I gotta do?”
The problem is that things aren’t going well for Armond, since he’s in the middle of a drug bender after falling off the wagon and Shane, Rachel’s husband, is continuing to cause him trouble. He and Dillon’s all-too-brief sexual encounter spills into the open when Shane and hotel spa manager Belinda interrupt Armond in his office right as he’s applying his lips to Dillon’s bare bottom. It’s not good news for Armond, but this lusty image of quenched desire certainly makes for peak television.
“Departures” (Season 1, Episode 6)
Although there is plenty more to this season than just the feud between Armond and Shane, their rivalry serves as the source for some of the most iconic moments in the entire series — and also provides the explanation for the death referenced at the start of “Arrivals.”
When Shane gets Armond fired over a robbery that happened at the resort, Armond takes revenge by sneaking into his room, dropping his pants, and emptying his bowels directly into Shane’s suitcase. Shane arrives back in the room and ends up accidentally stabbing Armond in defense. What a holiday!
“That’s Amore” (Season 2, Episode 5)
The White Lotus is a fictional chain of luxury resorts, and Season 2 of “The White Lotus” shifts the action from Hawaii to the Mediterranean — specifically a palatial resort location in Sicily, Italy. Among the guests is Albie, the son of a sex-addicted Hollywood executive, who strikes up a friendship with a local Italian woman named Lucia, not realizing until it’s too late that she’s actually a sex worker.
In one of the hottest scenes of a season themed around sex, the two spend all night in Albie’s room, making sweet love until dawn — only for Albie to go all surprised-Pikachu-face when Lucia awkwardly asks for payment. That sets off a bigger hustle for Lucia to exploit, but the real shocker in this episode happens in the city of Palermo, where Tanya McQuoid (returning from Season 1) brings her young assistant Portia to join some new friends on a day trip.
Tanya spends the evening at a sprawling palazzo owned by Quentin, a wealthy gay British man who’s always accompanied by Jack, his “naughty nephew.” Jack is a hunky Essex lad played with drool-worthy charisma by Leo Woodall, and he’s already swept Portia off her feet. But early in the morning Tanya is awakened by a sound, and it’s played as a shock when she stumbles upon Quentin and Jack grunting and grinding through a naked bedroom rendezvous.
“Abductions” (Season 2, Episode 6)
Everyone seems to be having sex issues in Sicily, but things work out splendidly in this episode for Valentina, the White Lotus’s uptight hotel manager. She’s devastated when she finds out that a concierge she’s been crushing on is engaged to be married, but when local musician Mia senses that Valentina is queer, she treats her to her very first lesbian experience in exchange for taking over a piano gig at the hotel bar. The incredibly hot and tender scene is a fan favorite for good reason.
Meanwhile, sexual tension reaches a boil among one group of travelers when Ethan — a tech entrepreneur in the middle of marriage troubles with his wife, Harper — hilariously and horrifyingly visualizes Harper (played by Aubrey Plaza) getting it on in their hotel room with his arrogant college frenemy Cameron.
“Arrivederci” (Season 2, Episode 7)
Although the second season of “The White Lotus” starts off slow, it builds to an absolutely bonkers finale. Tanya is lured onto a yacht as part of a scheme to murder her and make off with her fortune, but she turns the tables on her captors (including the aforementioned Quentin, but also a local hot guy with mafia ties) when she finds a gun in a duffel bag and massacres them in a blind panic. Jennifer Coolidge plays the role of Tanya by walking a fine line between tragedy and comedy, ultimately dying in a near-slapstick escape attempt.
Another storyline comes to a more peaceful close, though, when Ethan decides to engage in a hookup with Cameron’s wife, Daphne. It’s a dreamlike scene where you don’t actually see any of the action, but it follows the twisted logic of these wealthy and competitive holidaymakers, allowing Ethan to overcome his jealousy and finally secure a sexual connection with Harper.
“Full-Moon Party” (Season 3, Episode 5)
Incest was already a subject on “The White Lotus” before the third season, coming in the form of Quentin’s hookups with Jack, a kept boy posing as the older man’s nephew. But this time it happens for real. In an all-night party on a yacht in Thailand, the wealthy young Ratliff brothers stay up all night with fellow White Lotus guests Chloe and Chelsea. Fueled by booze and club drugs, Lochlan opens wide for a deep kiss with his older bro Saxon. Yeah, that’s right, his brother. Rich kids, amirite?
“Amore Fati” (Season 3, Episode 8)
In familiar “White Lotus” fashion, the third season starts off slow, even kinda boring, but then Mike White builds up the weirdness to make for a suitably twisty finale set in the tropical Thai resort. Timothy, a businessman in hot water and on the brink of a breakdown, almost poisons his family but then stops it at the last minute.
Later comes the dramatic shootout first depicted in the premiere. It ends on an equally spicy transformation, with the gentle security guard Gaitok earning a promotion (and winning the heart of his lifelong love Mook in the process) by abandoning his pacifist beliefs and shooting Rick on the orders of the hotel’s owner.
