BET+ is Shutting Down This Month: Everything Subscribers Need To Know

BET+ content is moving to Paramount+
As confirmed by Deadline’s reporting back in March, the BET+ streaming service is shutting down this month. As of June 1, over 1,000 hours of BET+ content have moved over to Paramount+ ahead of the BET+ closure. And all new BET content will go directly to Paramount+.
BET and BET+ shows are available through both of Paramount+’s subscription tiers, so if you’re a Paramount+ subscriber, you’ll automatically get access to the BET content library.
As of writing, there is no plan for this move to make Paramount+ any more expensive, although that could change once the transition is finalized. It’s also unclear exactly which day this month that BET+ will shut down, so if you want to catch up on your favorite episodes of Tyler Perry shows without an additional charge, do so now.

BET+ is no longer accepting new subscribers
The BET+ website confirmed this month that “new BET+ subscriptions are no longer available.” However, existing subscribers are still able to sign in for the time being.
As we reported back in March, existing BET+ subscribers will get the option to transfer their subscription over to Paramount+ with an exclusive discount. But their subscriptions won’t transfer automatically—unfortunately, continuing to watch BET content on demand means paying a higher subscription price. BET+ previously cost $5.99/mo., and the cheapest Paramount+ tier costs $8.99/mo.
It is unclear how much of a discount BET+ subscribers are receiving, or how long the promo period will last. Keep an eye on CableTV.com’s news coverage, and we’ll let you know when we find out more.
Also, it’s important to note that while BET+ is shutting down, the BET television network is not. So if you only watch BET content through a cable or satellite provider, you will remain unaffected.
