Crunchyroll Anime Nights return on June 15

Every month, Crunchyroll does its part to revitalize the movie theater experience by bringing Anime Nights to screens across the country. Sometimes it takes the form of a highly-anticipated movie or an exclusive episode from an upcoming show.

This month’s event is a sneak peak for the upcoming summer anime season, featuring full, never-before-seen episodes. While most fans will have to wait until July to watch the new episodes, you can watch them early by attending an Anime Night event on June 15.

Is your local theater participating?

According to Crunchyroll’s website, Crunchyroll Anime Nights occur at select theaters from the following theater chains:

  • Alamo Drafthouse
  • AMC Theatres
  • Cinemark Theatres
  • Cineplex
  • Emagine Entertainment
  • Galaxy Theatres
  • Harkins Theatres
  • Landmark Cinemas
  • Reading Cinemas
  • Regal Cinema
  • Santikos Entertainment

So if you have one of those theater chains in your area, chances are you’ll be able to score some tickets! For example, it looks like my local Regal theater won’t be participating, but the slightly-more-far-away Cinemark theater will. You can check which theaters in your area are participating by heading to the Fandango event page and entering your location.

In my area, general admission Anime Nights tickets are $15.44 apiece after the Fandango Convenience Fee.

What titles are airing on Crunchyroll Anime Night?

This season’s Sneak Peek offers an exclusive first look at three upcoming simulcast titles.

There will be one new title, “Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games,” which is a yuri dramedy about girls who enroll in a forbidden fighting game tournament.

There will also be two sneak peaks at returning anime: the second seasons of fantasy drama “Clevatess” and isekai “Skeleton Knight in Another World.” The first seasons of each show are 12 episodes long apiece and are currently streaming in English on Crunchyroll if you want to catch up before the event. Otherwise, I’d recommend Anime Night most to existing fans of either series.

The full event will run for an hour and forty minutes.
