Why do we cover streaming and home internet? CableTV.com launched in 2007 as a way for folks to compare cable TV providers in their area. Traditional cable TV is dead. Long live cable streaming?! For years now, cable and satellite TV providers have been dipping their toes in the streaming pond. We think 2026 will be seen as the tipping point when your cable TV provider technically became your streaming TV provider, with Spectrum TV Stream and Xfinity StreamSaver showing higher adoption rates and impressive customer satisfaction scores. In 2026, niche live TV streaming services Frndly TV and Philo saw declines in satisfaction, while TV industry stalwart DIRECTV snatched the streaming crown. (Again, even historically loathed cable TV providers are doing streaming now and crushing it.) Congratulations, anime fans: Crunchyroll is America’s favorite standalone streaming service
This year, Crunchyroll took the crown as the best standalone, on-demand streaming service, and The Disney Bundle proved itself to be better than the sum of its parts. Horror favorite Shudder also won big, once again proving itself in User Experience and Exclusive Content. See full report.
